SEAGAL's career?

First of all, i'm not knocking SEAGAL, but of recent, all i'm hearing is tales of STV disasters/low-budget distribution/dull co-stars.I no longer book cinema tickets, i pre-order dvd, straight from AMAZON.

I just wish he'd go back to basics, and start kicking ass again. I had read somewere, that a buddist guru of his, told him not to make violent movies. Now i know he still has violence in his movies, but you never see SEAGAL commit the act (is this the reason for 'fight-doubles'?)
I recently watched the excellent A PATH BEYOND THOUGHT, and watching him move was amazing, and he didn't look in any different shape, than he does now.

I still know he's a badd-ass.

It surely doesn't take hyper-acrobatics and jumped up camera tricks, to throw down a few moves, does it STEVEN?

I'll still watch SEAGAL till i die, but i used to enjoy showing his films off to others, but of recent i've had nothing to show off!

I think it's cool that Seagal now does both stv & cinema releases.At least that way we won't have to wait that long for the movies to come out,& we still get to enjoy his films on the big screen.

I really think Yakuza will be an all-out fight fest & will be a return to form on all accounts.

I agree, Steven went down hill with Fire down below and The patriot, then came back in style with Exit wounds (one of my fave Seagal movies), then made TICKER (worst film I have EVER seen), Half past dead, bigger budget but nearly as bad, and the Foreigner what the hell was going on in that film I don't know, I bet the cast and crew didn't have a clue either.

I used to be proud to watch a Seagal film, you know, build up to the big fight scenes, his attitude he would have on the screen, playing tougher than tough characters, now he seems to be an old man, for example, in Half past dead, he hits one guard, then lets 2 or is it 3 guards hold him off, Seagal films of old would have had him break all ther necks. Now I'm embarassed, I big him up to my wife, put on the latest film expecting him to be back to his best, but all I am is let down.

I have to admit, I watched the out for a kill trailer, even though it was like watching a slide show, what I could make out looked ok, and it did sound good. So hopfully.

everyone is hoping his next projects will be better than his last, but with every new project, Steven gets that much older, therfore more reason not to do his own action, which is what he is famous for in the first place.

I hope his next projects are better, I really do

Ok i agree with some of your points , not all of them but some of them ,
but the thing is what does Steven have to prove.....He's done the the stv stuff and ok some of the stuff i wouldn't even say are proper steven seagal films ( Ticker , Executive Decision),

Personally i feel it takes a lot of things for a film to work well , and no-one can deny that the two films he has made with Andrew Davis ( Nico , Under Siege) were Excellent ! , but i dont think steven wants to be a tom hanks or a denzel washington and standing up on the podium on oscar night ( could you imagine it ! ) He has just basically come from being a nothing to being a some-one, a lot of actors make one crap movie and they are never heard about again Steve gets panned from the critics and he still keeps coming back and making more ......
These "critics are A**Holes theyr'e job is to find fault with things and i think steven's films are easy bait along with other films too , I personsally think that gladiator was one of the worst pieces of crap ever shot and yet it gets all the awards going , Yet Under Siege was a real action junkies feast and yet they still panned him ... Go Figure !

What i think you either like steven and his films or you dont , if you dont then fair enough go away and bother somebody else, if you do well great sit back and watch some justice being dished out and **** the critics !!!
