STEVEN SEAGAL A BIG HIT
WITH RACING FANS AT HASTINGS
They came from all over Greater Vancouver armed with pictures, posters and autograph books to meet a legendary action movie star at Hastings Racecourse on Saturday, May 31.
And as a bonus, each of every one of the adoring fans enjoyed the thrill of not only meeting Steven Seagal on a one-to-one basis, but also posing for individual pictures.
Mr. Seagal, in Vancouver shooting a new action movie called Ruslan intently watched the running of a special Steven Seagal Purse from the rail at the Hastings winner’s circle. Then at the invitation of Howard Blank, Vice President of Media and Entertainment with the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation, Seagal spent an hour in a meet and greet photo session in a secured, roped-off section on the racecourse tarmac.
“It was an enjoyable afternoon,” Mr. Seagal said later over lunch on a private patio at Hastings. “The racing fans are very friendly and knowledgeable.”
Besides being an accomplished actor, Seagal is a producer, writer, director and singer/songwriter. He is also a former aikido instructor in Japan and master of several Japanese martial arts.
“We were thrilled to have him visit us,” said Hastings GM Raj Mutti. “Mr. Seagal attracted several first-timers to the racetrack and for that, we thank him.”
