Steven Seagal would have been perfect for "Taken" movies

I saw Taken 1 (2009) yesterday and thought that Liam Neeson's role would have been perfect part for Mr. Seagal. Now Seagal would have great movie franchise.
The budget wasn't too big for that movie too, only $25 million. This is around the same as the likes of The Foreigner and Out For A Kill!

There is just one problem, Hollywood is to snobbie when it comes to Seagal, mainly because of his weight. Thats the only problem.

It's amazing what can be done when that amount of money is spent properly!

That is understandable though isn't it? At his current weight Seagal would just not be believable playing a character like Bryan Mills, where as Liam Neeson is.

If only Seagal would shed those extra pounds he could play a wider range of roles.

Age is against him, but those extra pounds may prove the death of him artistically and healthwise.

I'm not sure about this. I mean it's very much a Seagal type of film, but what elevated Taken from being better than your standard film of that type was Neeson. He was excellent in the role and gave it plenty of gravitas. Seagal may have presence, but I don't think he has the acting ability to pull off Mills (at least in the first one).
Then again, it would just be nice to see Seagal doing a film as stripped down, simple and well made as Taken.
