Thank You, You have made me proud!
Making my treatment rounds, I was watching a Muslim mom divide up an American MRE . MREs are Meals ready to eat made for US military that some one bought and sent here with money people like you sent to rescue Northern Pakistani and Indian people who have suffered through the devastation of an earthquake.
An MRE is meant to be one meal for a physically hard working American soldier. This mom was dividing one up to feed five members of her family including her seriously injured husband and a baby. She asked me to thank the American Muslims who sent this life saving food but was stunned when I told her the money came from Americans of all faiths including Muslims, Christians, Jews, and Buddhists. She asked me if these Americans really caredabout a family like her's that we didn't know and I was proud to say YES. They sent me with medicine and sent this good food.
Tears in her eyes she asked me to tell you thank you. This food was saving her children. Her young teen ager asked me if what I’d said was really true and I said yes. You can guess what this teen aged boy must have thought about us rich Americans.
I’m proud of you for caring and helping. THANK YOU for making my morning really nice.
Yesterday soldiers brought up huge steaming pots of chicken rice soup made by women 100 miles South of here . I was cold and wet, that soup tasted wonderful.
