The Foreigner is a 15 certificate

When The Foreigner came out in the US it was an R rated film, and when I watched it I think it did deserve an R as it has some very violent scenes (often for no real reason).

Anyway, now it has arrived in the UK, it is only a 15 cetificate, I looked into it and it hasn't had any cuts made to it, this leads me to believe that the English rating system is getting weaker and weaker.

We used to have to endure many cuts to Seagal films, now they are not only keeping them intact, but letting more people see them.

Out for a kill is also going to be an R, so hopefully that will be just as violent, but I would like a story I can understand this time.

It's not THAT violent for a '15'.

The Foreigner isn't that violent for a '15'. The BBFC always takes into account how pervasive or frequent the violence is and the violence in The Foreigner isn't that often compared to his other films especially. If there had been any knife violence or bone-crunching it probably would have been upped to an '18' but as it stands it's mostly just shootings.
