Damn!It just broke me down when I thought about my dog, she's got a milk gland tumor and it's nearly incurable...I don't know how long she's gonna last.

So sorry about your dog, Tora. What's her name?

My dog's name is Chara and she's been living with us for 10 years already.I got her on my birthday when she was just 2 months...I remember every single moment she spent with us.And although I can't look at things from her point of view and feel what she's feeling I can imagine there's not much of comfort to her in this sickness...it's almost like cancer and you know what cancer is like...But this thing is even kind of worse because it depends on her hormones which affect the growth of the tumor. And it's quite strange that this happens among female dogs pretty often.

Tora,

I am so so sorry to hear about Chara. I hope she is doing ok. One of my dogs has a big tumor, and I am saving for her surgery. There is a group that has lots of good advice on diet, treatments, and nutritional supplements.

Check it out:

My dog has improved a lot, but she is old (13 yrs.). All you can do is be there for her. That makes all the difference.

A poem....

Before I Was A Dog Mom

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I made and ate hot meals unmolested.
I had unstained, unfurred clothes.
I had quiet conversations on the phone,
even if the doorbell rang.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I slept as late as I wanted
And never worried about how late I got to bed
or if I could get into my bed.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I cleaned my house every day.
I never tripped over toys, stuffies, chewies
Or invited the neighbor's dog over to play.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I didn't worry if my plants, cleansers, plastic bags,
toilet paper, soap or deodorant
were poisonous or dangerous.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I had never been peed on
Pooped on
Drooled on
Chewed on
Or pinched by puppy teeth.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I had complete control of
My thoughts,
My body and mind.
I slept all night without sharing
the covers or pillow.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I never looked into big, soulful eyes and cried.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop a hurt.
I never knew something so furry and four-legged
could affect my heart so deeply.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I had never held a sleeping puppy
just because I couldn't put it down.
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was well.
I didn't know how warm it feels inside
to feed a hungry puppy.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Dog Mom:
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being
A Dog Mom

Tora, I feel for both you and Chara...

I hope she will be fine...
We had one of our poodles who had breast cancer,
and she had surgery, but we ended up losing her,
she was about 12 years old...

Jalu that puppy is so precious...

So tiny, omg, it's soooooooo cute!

Oh, how I deeply wish that I could prevent any any living
thing from getting cancer, but since I can't do that I just
have to hope and pray that any being who has a medical
problem will be be cured of this their illness, especially cancer...
I wish all beings good health, contentment, happiness and joy...
OM MANI PADME HUM!

When I am Old...

I shall wear Turquoise and soft gray sweatshirts...
and a bandana over my silver hair...
and I shall spend my Social Security checks on
sweet wine and my dogs.....
and sit in my house on my well-worn chair
and listen to my dog's breathing.

I will sneak out in the middle of a warm Summer night
and take my dogs for a run, if my old bones will allow...
and when people come to call,
I will smile and nod as I show them my dogs...
and talk of them and about them...
The Ones so Beloved of the Past
and the Ones so Beloved of Today...

I still will work hard cleaning after them
and mopping and feeding them
and whispering their names in a soft, loving way.
I will wear the gleaming sweat on my throat like a jewel
and I will be an embarrassment to all...
and my family...
who have not yet found the peace
in being free to have dogs as your Best Friends...

These friends who always wait, at any hour, for your footfall...
and eagerly jump to their feet out of a sound sleep,
to greet you as if you are a God.
With warm eyes full of adoring love and hope that you will stay and kiss their
dear sweet heads...
and whisper to their very special company...

I look in the Mirror and see I am getting old...
this is the kind of woman I am...and have always been.
Loving dogs is easy,
they are part of me, accept me for who I am,
my dogs appreciate my presence in their lives...
When I am old, this will be important to me...
You will understand when you are old...
and if you have dogs to love, too.

That was cute, Jalu...
Dogs are really great...
They love you no matter what...
Some people are just as loyal
and loving...
Just not as many, too bad...

Cute,Jalu,thanks a lot!

I remember what doctor said about the surgery, she said it's too late to have our dog operated as it may cause worse reactions and she might die soon after...
So perhaps any treatment would be more helpful but these doctors here aren't really that helpful, they just hunger to get more money.

Do you need help with the dishes?

:D HA HA HA!!! :D

Thanks, Jalu! This was great! :)
No, don't need any help. I do have a dishwasher.
Guess what I'll be thinking of every time I open it for a while, though? :D

Reminds me of a guy I dated, who lived in Windsor, Canada. He had a huge dog. We were at his apartment, grabbing a bite to eat. He'd take a few bites, then put some food on the fork and let his dog eat it!!! Then he'd take a few more bites off the same fork. Then he let the dog lick the plate clean and put it in the dish drainer to dry. ewwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

Needless to say--last date. :D
Oh, the life of a single gal. :D

The airline labrador

A man is sitting in an airliner, which is about to takeoff when another man with a Labrador Retriever occupies the two empty seats beside him.

The Lab is situated in the middle, and the first man is looking quizzically at the dog when the second man explains that they work for the airline.

The airline rep says, "Don't mind Sniffer; he's a sniffing dog, the best there is; I'll show you once we get airborne when I put him to work." The plane takes off and levels out when the handler says to the first man, "Watch this." He tells the dog, "Sniffer, search."

Sniffer jumps down, walks along the aisle, and sits next to a woman for a few seconds. It then returns to its seat and puts one paw on the handler's arm.

He says, "Good boy." The airline rep turns to the first man and says, "That woman is in possession of marijuana, so I'm making a note of this and her seat number for the police who will apprehend her on arrival."

"Fantastic!" replies the first man.

Once again he sends Sniffer to search the aisles. The Lab sniffs about, sits down beside a man for a few seconds, returns to its seat, and places two paws on the handler's arm.

The airline rep says, "That man is carrying cocaine, so again I'm making a note of this and the seat number."

"I like it!" says the first man.

A third time the rep sends Sniffer to search the aisles. Sniffer goes up and down the plane and after a while sits down next to someone. He then comes racing back, jumps up onto his seat, and poops all over the aisle and the seat.

The first man is really grossed out by this behavior from a supposedly well trained sniffing dog and asks, "What the hell is going on with this stupid dog?"

The handler nervously replies, "He just found a bomb"

I think everyone knows about my dog Cody!

He's 150 lb Great Pyrenees, all white except his black nose, and big brown eyes. He's very bossy too. When he wants to walk in the woods he so insistent It's hard to tell him no. When I'm packing for a trip, he knows it and is really upset. Now that it's daylight all night in Alaska, Cody doesn't want to sleep. He thinks we shouls be out doing something. He has also thoroughly killed a couple of suitcases to let me know how he feels about my trips. His loyalty is wonderful and his love is a sure thing.
