Above The Law screenplay

This was very interesting to read, there was a lot of conversations (like the one with uncle Branca at the christening party) that got left out of the film. That would have been nice to see.

In the script they made Nico more like a "normal person" then a "superhuman".

Like the strore fight scene:

"Nico moves to the pay phone, covering the men with his .45. He grabs the receiver in his free hand; tries to dial. Adrenaline makes his hand shake; the dials spin wrong -- One of the men sees Nico's dilemma. To hit 911, Nico has to take his eye momentarilyif his captives"

I guess this is because they try to pack so much of everything into a certain squeezed time frame that some things just have to get left out...
No time to include all those little character building nuances in the average movies time frame...
People want action, action, and more action it seems...
As Steven has said before, most folks want entertainment with not a lot of thought involved...

I notice in the opening montage paragraph that there was supposed to be a picture of Nico Toscani getting dumped on his butt....

Oh, no, we couldn't have that, could we? Superheroes never get dumped on their butts, even when they're learning the moves!

:)

-TD, suspending disbelief anyhow
