Ain't Looking Good for Belly in CND

Recently, I went to several stores (Futureshop, BestBuy, and a few minors) to ask for the Belly of the Beast. The response was that the order for Belly of the Beast was placed a long time ago by the stores, but on the release day (same as U.S.) none came which means only one thing: that you can order the movie online but should not expect to see it on the shelves.

The good side to this is: you can go to your nearest Blockbuster or RogersVideo and rent the movie; but apparently it will not be sold later, as the movie is not being rented out nearly as much as during the first week of release (in 2 weeks, the renting of Belly... has seized to approximately 1-2 rentals / week). This means that the movie will most likely be pulled off the shelves once it becomes old news, and in a while (when the 7 day rental gets old) the Belly... DVDs will be shipped out of the store (they say that there is no reason for them to keep a movie like this and try to sell it when there are not enough customers asking for it, and they cannot make a private sale).

I haven't seen it yet due to a huge bombardment of exams by the university, but now that I'm going to start my reading week, I will make it my first thing on the list to go out and get it.

To all the Canadians: go out, rent it, and save the Belly...!!!

Jealousy

That doesnt suprize me, Its the reverse here theyll show his movies in the SE for awhile but theyll tun a cartoon crappy movie for months but Steven is thought of as contraversial and his econ messages offend some hes got a rep as enviro-political and after a run or so they wisk his movies off uncerimonious like while something half as good goes 2 months...so order it if you want it its startin over again I see..

Yes, there is lots of jealousy in regards to Steven, I've known that for years...
It's a shame because it's a good movie, I was very pleased with him as always...
And if people knew how much of the whole pie he's had his fingers in, they would probably be amazed...
I know I am...
Too bad about Canada being that way, our Best Buy has it, I went to check which stores had it when it first came out...
I saw it at suncoast, best buy, and some other music video place, forget the name, maybe sam goody...
Fact is he's too deep for most plain folks, and that is intimidating, he is no average Joe, most people can't grasp the message he's trying to send or they don't want to...
Of course lack of advertising might be a problem too...
Ah well, I adore him and appreciate him, if others don't, or can't then it's their loss, I feel sorry for them...However I do empathize with him, as he isn't getting the recogniton he deserves for all his efforts...
I don't think there are too many men so dedicated to the enviroment as he is...
Most people just don't get it...
Maybe it strikes them deep in their conciousness that what they are doing is wrong, and they feel lots of shame, maybe even some resentment...
But people have to realize these things...
Don't you worry, Steven, we here all admire and appreciate you for everthing that you've done and are doing...
If it makes you happy then kudos to you!
You, my darling, are a great man with a very compassionate heart...
I totally adore you!

I'm canadian and I rented it. I also saw it at a DVD store here in Montreal called DVD Passion. There were lots of copy's for sale.

Oblowitz

It wouldn't surprise me to discover the reason for it being less popular that expected: Michael Oblowitz. Him making his last two crappy films with Seagal have doubtless decreased his popularity. Which is a shame becuase Belly of the Beast is a superb film.

Belly of the Beast

Hi Heather,
I'm not too bad hope you are well too, I was surprised to notice my Exit Wounds picture had disappeared when I came on but then I looked closer and noticed all the signatures have vanished too! Don't get me wrong I love The Foreigner and Out For a Kill too, the main reason of course being that The Master is in them. I just think that because they're not quite in the same league as Seagal's better films they may be affected him in a bad way. Hopefully everyone though will get to regain faith in his films by watching the far better Belly of the Beast. I'm jealous of you in a way with you having not seen it yet as I'd love to see it for the first time again. And let's all pray the rumours of him making another film with Oblowitz are not true!
