I notice the reviewer was extremely forgiving of Oblowitz and blamed all the bad things on Steven, a poor script, etc. etc.

Doesn't the reviewer know a director makes or breaks a film? Give a good script to a bad director, and you'll end up with a bad film, regardless of how good the script was, or any of the actors in it.

Sheesh.

The first review disrespects Steven, and says that Oblowitz did so well that is a laugh...
Well, I think we discussed that already, and we all know that's not the case...
I am telling you, these male reviewers are simply insanely jealous of this man, and I think intimidated by him...
The films cliche's and so called rip-offs have nothing to do with Steven anyways, so why blame him?
Seems like the reviewer is trying to do so to me...
He should have mentioned that when talking about the director I think...
Orgies? Where did that come from? I don't think it was that wild a film was it?
Yes, perhaps he's the 'strong silent type' like Bronson or Eastwood, but the point is, action stars are not stars for the dialogue anyway, right?
The fans want to see him kick butts, and that is just what he did...
Now that he is concentrating on doing that once again, they are critical of something else...
Lets face it, they are never going to be happy, and they are always going to be on his case...
I will make up my own mind, so just let them spew their trash...
He is never boring, he has a most interesting and unique voice that is in no way emotionless, he is exactly the opposite of boring!
Especially with the ladies that's why the reviewers are so jealous...;)
Sad, sad, sad...
Now lets see what the next review says...

This guy is a wisecracker, eh?
How rude, calling someone a weirdo...
You know what they say, it takes one to know one...
So either he is weird or he's wrong...
I say he wrong...

I don't get it - how come these reviewers are being so forgiving of the director? This guy moithers on about how badly put to together the story is, but then praises the director for trying to make a good film out of a bad story? Hello - it's the director who makes or breaks the story telling in a film. And it's the director who gets the quality performance out of an actor - if he cares to. If all the director is interested in is getting cool shots, then no, he's not going to get much of a good performance out of his actors. (Anyone seen Attack of the Clones, for example? Alas, George Lucas.)

Sheesh. (Okay, I know I'm blowing smoke because I haven't seen OFAK yet, but I know enough about film-making in general to know that if a film sucks, it's usually because of the director.)

-TD, still waiting.....

It does not suck...
My dad liked it too...
He didn't like HPD, much,
but he is pretty honest about
something that he doesn't like...

What I find amazing, is that a movie takes many people to make, and so why is that Steven gets all the bashing?
He is the lead star yes, but he doesn't control ever bit of the film...
It's confusing to be that all these bad reviews just drone on and on about him, as if there was noone else involved...
It's getting irritating...

ok I admit he's THE attraction, and he's THE man, Oh yeah baby! :D
But really, it still bothers me that the reviews do this...

While the filmjudge review was negative, it was negative for all the right reasons. In fact, it was a fair review, because it assessed *the film*, unlike the rottentomatoes review, which was just more ragging about Steven. In fact, most of the reviews I've seen so far have ragged on Steven - his hair and weight in particular - and forgiven the director his many sins.

-TD, who suspects she'll give it a 3/5 rating as well

I thought he looked good...I finally got my copy in the mail, heh, heh...
He is not fat, just such a very big man, and so delicious, oh my...
I am totally pleased with what I see, the reviewers are just being jerks as always...

There's only a brief reference (they don't even mention the name) to the movie here (in bold), but at least they're calling it a blockbuster! :)

So Solid star signs up for Craig's Crew
Chart-topping star M C Harvey speaks exclusively to Recordersport's GARY HAINES

MENTION the name Michael Junior Harvey and most of the local footballing fraternity would say, "Michael who?" Aldershot, Woking, Harrow and Slough fans may vaguely remember him as an athletic left-back who was previously on the books of Chelsea and Barnet. But, other than that, his appearance for Ford United Reserves in a 1-1 Capital League draw with Dagenham at Oakside on Wednesday would have barely raised a murmur.

Except that the 24-year-old defender is better known as MC Harvey, one of the 35 members (at the last count) of the controversial South London chart-toppers So Solid Crew. He was spotted training for an upcoming television show at Newham Sports Centre a couple of weeks ago and was soon sitting down with Ford boss Craig Edwards to thrash out a deal. Harvey (pictured below in Ford colours) made his debut against a very strong Dagenham side in a Capital League reserve team clash on Wednesday and found himself up against one of the top right-wingers in non-league football, Mark Janney. "I've known Mark for a long time and have come up against him before," Harvey
told me. "He always seems to have a bad game against me!"

Harvey, who is engaged to Mis-Teeq rapper Alesha Dixon and has recently filmed a Hollywood blockbuster with Steven Seagal, was delighted to get back into football. "With Ford it was something that was meant to be. The basic agreement with my management company is that they will take no bookings for me between 9am and 6pm on Saturday and 6-9 on Thursdays. "I need a few games but once I get my sharpness back there won't be a right-winger in the league that can get past me." The Liverpool fan, who has his own box at Anfield and counts Sean Davis and Clinton Morrison as close friends, is hoping to pull in some much-needed punters at Oakside. "I've got 1.6 million fans so if I start doing well and the buzz gets around . . ."

Yeah, but which film? Not Out for A Kill, surely - not Belly of the Beast, either. Had to be whatever he did after - was that Out of Reach? I'm so confused....

-TD, wishing Steven's publicity people would actually do their jobs, and not keep his fans guessing

Hey, TD. He was in Out for a Kill. His name is in the credits. He was a young man Steven befriended in prison in the movie. I think we saw him for about 20 seconds. REAL big part! :) They kinda forgot about him after the beginning until Steven made one tiny reference to him later on.
