Thanks, Serena!
So TD, I guess that TURP is also used on men with cancers, basically to clear the urethra, so that the urine flows out better...
I guess the tumors can cause a blockage just as well as swelling can...
I am hoping he will be fine, TD...
The doctor that treated my dad told him that most men with this type of cancer will not die from it, but rather from something else...
A lot of men even choose not to have treatment, depending on the complications the cancer is causing (one of those things is difficult urination, which is what the TURP is used for, I think...)
In any case, I know it's tough not to fall to pieces at a time like this, but hang in there, we are all a big happy family, and Serena is right, maybe we are a little disfunctional, but what family isn't?
Incidently, a little note of concern to all the male members on this board...
I can't stress enough that any man should start having the antigen test (PSA) and ewwww, yes even those embarrassing digital exams by the time they are fifty...
I would think forty isn't too early for this either, as my dads urination problems started about that age, I think...
I don't know what the recommended age is, but I think it is around age fifty...
Good Luck to your father TD, I wish you both the best...
