I'll never forget the time I had a bad feeling something bad was going to happen to my family. I had a strong burden that I should pray for my family. The more the day passed the stronger the feelings got.
On my way to town to take one of my children to pre-school I started to pray for my family....I just kept praying and driving....
........All of a sudden a semi coming from the opposite direction hit the side of the road and while trying to correct himself he over compensated into my lane....then he swerved to get back into his lane. I just froze and sucked in air....I found myself going through a cloud of dirt while being canopied by a trailor of brand new cars. To be honest....I NEVER knew a trailor could tip that far without tipping over.
.........God answers prayer!!!! He can do anything.....just trust, faith and pray! God could have said no, I want you to come home now. That would have been fine too. My two kids (one was in the "oven" at the time) and I would be with Jesus Christ. That is nothing to be sad about.
Jesus said this in the bible: John 14: 2-7 "In my Fathers house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if it were not so, I would have told you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And whither I go you know, and the way you know.' 'Thomas said unto him, Lord, we know not where you goest; and how can we know the way?' Jesus said unto him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me. If you had known me, you should have known my Father also: and from henceforth you know him, and have seen Him."
.............I like to tease sometimes with my husband when I get the feeling something is going to happen by saying it is womens intuition!
I didn't finish my thought. We are all given a certain awareness...some of us use it, some of us ignore it. I sometimes have a habit of ignoring my gut (the whisper if you will) because it seems it comes too easily. (Oh man! I know I sound weird!)
Do I ever? Yes, quite often. "Intuition", "conscience", or heaven forbid those tags of "telepathic", "psychic"; whatever one wishes to label "it" - we've probably all had such moments but may or may nor have listened to them.
Mostly I've been called an "emphath", especially when doing body work. I can sense a person's energy, or pain, or sometimes even how they were injured. I have described people's childhood injuries or accidents before they can tell me about them, because I can "feel" what they were feeling. It is a gift that I take seriously and humbly. Precognitions are also part of that gift but I also believe God is in charge and He can change things if it is His will.
For a Sufi, dissolving into God is the only Point to Life. The closer one comes to that Point, the less hold the world has and the more open one is to Life in Unity.
