BEIJING, July 11 -- Hong Kong director Daniel Lee's gangster film "Dragon Squad" is expected to spend 30 million HK dollars for its premiere ceremony in November.

The extravagant premiere ceremony will be taken place on a luxurious tanker on the seashore in Hong Kong.

A charity party for tsunami victims will be also held at the event.

It is the first time for Hollywood star Steven Seagal to supervise an Asian film.

The 40 million HK dollars film, from newly formed Visualizer Films, brings together an international cast including "Minority Report" star Mike Binder, South Korean star Jun-ho Heo, martial arts movie veteran Sammo Hung, Tomb Raider 2 actor Simon Yam, and Chinese mainland actress Huang Shengyi.

The film is about a battle between a team of ruthless international terrorists and an intrepid Interpol team in Hong Kong.

Why don't they just give the 30 million Hong Kong dollars to the tsunami victims and skip the extravagant premiere? Wouldn't the money be better spent that way, than feeding and watering a bunch of party-goers?

-TD, feeling really indignant today about the wasteful way people spend money (which is an indicator she's going through one of her no-income periods)

Thanks for the update, Suzi! :) I'm sure many of these people have already donated quite generously to the tsunami relief fund on their own, and I think it's nice they'll be using this occasion to generate more funds. :)
