I watched Half Past Dead here in Australia on Sunday. The movie may have started slow, but when Steven arrived at the prison there was non-stop action. I loved Steven's fight scene with the commando when he continually blocked lots of punches, before doing his own moves, and a great stop kick. I really enjoyed the fight with another commando when Steven finished him off with an aikido throw, great stuff. Wonderful and different to see a man (Ja Rule) get beaten up by a woman. The bad guy played his part well also. Just proves that you shouldn't listen to the critics, saying Steven's hardly fights, and he isn't in the movie. Steven was in the movie as much as any of his others. Steven had just the mix of fights needed for the movie, with great support from other actors. As Steven said in an Australian interview he doesn't want to make the exact same movies each time, he wants differences. I liked seeing Steven beat a lie detector as well, with his calm manner. If you put Steven's influence in this movie aside, and be objective, which the critics aren't, you see that Half Past Dead is just a fun action movie. The critics could see that if they weren't so obsessed with personal attacks on Steven and trying to make him look bad. We as true fans don't care what the critics say. I rate Half Past Dead as a 7/10. Thanks Steven Seagal for another great action movie.
