I used to visit a missionaries church some time ago but once I faced all that hypocricy among those people who cared about their benefits only I felt disappointed.
I say if you believe it's in your heart and no church can speak to God for you but you yourself. And all those sects are merely a brainwashing.

Surely you are not calling me a hypocrite
because I attend church?? loool....
Honestly, I do try to pratice what I preach.
I know you were not referring to me in
the post, I am simply trying to tell you how
I feel. We all fall short of what God expects
of us, even when I sin I try to correct that
wrong and I am forgiven. That's is what is so
wonderful about God's grace!!!!!!!!

love, kat :) :)

Dear Kat, I can't find that poem...:(
There were a few I couldn't find the threads for
when the old site closed, remember?
So they got lost...
I think I asked someone to search for me, and they
said it was already gone by then...
I also lost a whole bunch of them awhile back, when my works/word program got messed up...:(
I'll be glad to write you another one, though, I'm sorry...:(

Kat Whit,
It is funny you should say that. That is how I am feeling. I just didn't come out and say it. I am not saying there are not plenty of bad apples out there. Lord knows there are. I don't like getting stereo typed with them. Hypocrites have burned me many of times. I refuse to let them effect my relationship with God. I will only be hurting myself in the long run if I do.
Thanks for your input. Many times I have felt alone here, going against the grain. I feel terrible for all the people who get burned by hypocrites, and then let those people get the best of them. I just wanted to say ,"DITTO!" Which means I agree.

Why Lotus? If you make a genuine effort in something, isn't that called trying? No one is perfect.:)

Well, I have heard that Steven has been known to say "Don't try, just do..." And that "trying" is crap...
I guess he's a pretty demanding teacher, and that isn't a bad thing of course, maybe a little intimidating...
But I am sure he's the best mentor that his MA students could ask for...
As you will know if you ever watch the Path Beyond Thought (His aikido documentary) After seeing that I totally understand why he's such a popular choice for a Sensei....
Totally awesome and disciplined in his art, and fast, powerful, and unbeatable I'd say...

Hi, I am Julies "cub." My mom told me you have a poem thread. I want to put it on my moms thread. I learned about Imagery poems in school. Mel Gibsons movie influenced me to write this Imagery poem. My mom said there are many religious beliefs here. I do not expect everyone to agree or like this poems content taken from the story in the Bible of Jesus Christs crucifixion.

AII FOR US

by: Scarborough "cub"

EVERY tear shed and every bead of bloody-sweat that formed upon his brow in the garden.
EVERY disciple, friend, that forsook him, that said they didn't even know him.
EVERY pain inflicting blow by the soldiers and guards.
EVERY lie told by false witnesses to try to convict him.
EVERY mocking word and drop of spit that came out of the Priests and Pharisees mouths.
EVERY piece of silver Judas, his friend, got for betraying him.
EVERY punch thrown by those who wished for him to guess who did it.
EVERY link on the chain that bound him when he was brought before Pilate.
Every voice that called for the murderer Barabas, that three days earlier was hailing him "Messiah!," and then cried out "Crucify him!"
EVERY drop of water Pilate used to wash his hands of him.
EVERY whiplash that tore his skin from his holy body, and
EVERY piece of sharp bone and glass that made up the nine ends of that whip.
EVERY thorn from the crown the palace guards made to mock him, that got imbedded in his brow.
EVERY blow from the stick they used they used as his staff, on the head, driving the thorns deeper into his head.
Every scab and piece of skin that was torn from his body when they ripped the robe off his back. When they were done with him you couldn't even recognize who he was.
EVERY man from that company that stood, watched, spat on him, and mocked him.
EVERY agonizing step from Pilat's palace to Galgotha, while carrying a huge wooden cross.
EVERY nail driven into his hands and feet.
EVERY drop of blood his body lost when he was beaten, whipped, made fun of, nailed to the cross, and when the spear was thrust into his side.
EVERY insult hurled at him while he hung on the tree by, passers, cheif priests, elders, and even the bandits that hung on either side of him.
EVERY hour, minute, second he suffocated on the cross, but the thing he hardly could bare was to see his father, God, turning his back on him, abandoning him. While the weight of the whole world's sin was set apon his shoulders.
He didn't deserve this, but we do, so JESUS did this "ALL FOR US" because he loves us more than we could ever fathom. So when we accept him and receive this precious gift we can join him in PARADISE.

Hi little, cub...:)

Did you write that all by yourself, and how old are you?

Wow, I am so tickled...

Your mom is a nice lady and it was nice of her to let you share that with us...

Even though there are many different beliefs we all have to be tolerant of eachother, so thanks for sharing that with us..

Great job! :)

Julie, thank-goodness this board is well moderated, huh?
Otherwise I'm not sure I'd feel so comfy with him being on here...
You should have seen the old site, you would not have wanted him to
read what was there...

The old site didn't have much when I got there. No posts or threads. Just a bill board and sale products. I didn't know better. I had never surfed a site before that one.
My daughter is a freshman in high school. Yes, she wrote that herself. All of it. She asked me if people would get mad if she posted it. I couldn't make her any promises no one would.

Ah ok...
Well, she is older than I thought, Julie...
And she seems like such a smart girl...:)
I am not offended by the post, I am totally tolerant of Christianity and even I still cling to some of that which I was raised with...
However I do believe in the teachings of the Buddha very wholeheartedly...
I want you to know that I respect your beliefs...
And I appreciate your daughters effort, that was great...:)

I can't say she doesn't. I like watching him kick butt, but she fast forwards a lot of it. I think the one I've been able to see the most of is Fire Down Below. "The Cub"

Fast forwards thru a Seagal movie? gasp...

Did you enjoy the music in Fire Down Below? There is an CD from that movie available
