How Did You Discover Seagal?

Hanging out with a group of friends in the mid 1990s, we would gather at each other's home every week and bring videos to watch together. Someone brought Under Siege, and I've been hooked ever since.

The year was 1988 or 1989...

... I can't quite remember the exact date ... I know it was before my curfew that I went to the TV, turned it on, and the very first thing I saw was Above The Law starting. My parents have seen the movie, liked it, and approved (since I was very young) so I watched and I liked and that's when I became his fan. All my friends were Steven Seagal fans, and we talked about nothing but his movies when they came out (then, if there was time left, we talked about Arnold's, Sly's, and Van Damme's movies as they were the biggest at the time as well). It's been more than fifteen years since, and I am still as big of a fan as I used to be.

Well I guess it was the movie Above the Law first got my attention, but it really wasn't until years later when I started watching more of his movies.

Saw the Nico preview at the theater in Cairo Egypt...Instant fan...And then fell hard for Orin years later and began to have dreams about SS, which brought me to the official site where I heard the "Girl" stream...I think hearing that was love at first listen, I was floored...I thought is that really him, WOW...And I guess the lyrics really spoke to me somehow, even though they weren't for me, it was such a sweet song...After watching Nico, I watched Hard To Kill and Out For Justice on video, never got to go to the theater for those...Saw Under Siege at the theater at least twice, oddly enough with the same friend I saw Nico with...Shes from this area abouts...And our fathers were working together overseas...
I cannot remember if I
saw Exit Wounds at the theater, but I think I did, but it wasn't until I watched that video that I really got into him...I think the first dream was on a night I had watched the Exit Wounds video...Somehow he struck me as being different then he was before, much more earthy, less tough and brutal...We had only rented EW, and then I bought a copy of all of them cept ticker and ED, on ebay actually, as I had to see more, more, more, and really liked Fire Down Below a lot, I thought he was such a looker in that one, and got a glimpse of his romantic, sensitive side...

In 2000 after a major surgery, my husband would bring all kinds of movies
home to try and bring me out of my depression. Finally, he brought home
Hard To Kill. I saw his strength & character, and I have been hooked on SS
ever since. :) I credit many things to my recovery. The Lord God, my strong
determination to live, and the movies of Steven Seagal. :)

I had heard about him from different places. When I was like 9 my dad rented "Hard to Kill" for me, and I loved it. To this day, it's one of top movies. Then my cousin showed me "Fire Down Below", and I hated it. Then I caught Under Siege 2 on tv, then watched Under Siege. Slowly I started seeing more. I saw "half past dead" in the theatres (I didnt pay attention the week "Exit Wounds" came out) and then I was hooked. I know own many Seagal movies and watch them all the time.

That's great Kat...
You know, sometimes people need a spiritual friend like that when they are sick,
it can really help them to face the day...
I'm so glad he could do that for you....
Actually I heard that he has done many things for the sick, and that he's been involved in lots of research efforts to find cures for many diseases as well, he's always been so amazing that way, really wonderful...:)

Well, it was 2002, and I was hunting some good channel on tv, and then, got to watch the final moments of US2, I have heard of Seagal before but never had watched a movie of him and didn't know he was so great martial artist, that knife scene really got my attention, and it's still my favorite of all...
Then I got to see on TNT Fire Down Below, so here I'm... :)

Above The Law
Here is my story, I was never that familular with him although my first Black Belt magazine I ever purchased had Seagal on the cover the May 2001 issue, I used to see his movies every weekend on TBS or TNT but would never really watch them. The first Seagal movie I ever saw was Out For Justice on TBS but I always thought he was not good at martial arts because his kicks were ugly. I remember getting into him by watching a portion of Above The Law on TBS and after that I decided to buy it and ever since I bought that dvd I became in love with Seagal.

I had never watched a Seagal movie until Fire Down Below came on one weekend about 2 years ago. There was nothing on and my husband said let's watch this it's pretty good. I didn't really want to because I am not an action kinda woman, more drama, but I watched it and fell in love. It is my faborite movie of his. On the weekends when his movies come on, I always watch them. No matter how many times I have seen them, it's like I have to watch them. I have been hooked every since.

When I saw Executive Decision-it was the first Seagal movie I saw-I thought he could fly.Still telling it to myself to calm my conscience down.
