Is Seagal a good director?

What do you think of Seagal's directing abilities? I loved On Deadly Ground. Do you think he should be directing his own movies? Some of his last B grade movie were kind of disapointing...

For me:

He is very good director. I liked on deadly ground too. It was very good action movie. I believe he has a vision. He used in On Deadly Ground wonderful and panoromic pictures.. All fight scenes were very good.. etc...

I am sure if he does his own movies they should be better all of them.

Seagal has or had a lot of potential. His views and ideas are great but he doesn't get the support he deserves. Like Suzi said, his visions are awesome, and his cinematic ability is also good. On Deadly Groud seems to be the subject at hand...Take ODG for example, those shots of the ice capped mountains were great.

The only problem is, some things he does in his films aren't liked. That scene in ODG with the sick eskimos and that colage of some old lady and a naked Alaskan, I swear I thought somebody drugged me. He sometimes includes a little too much promotion in religion or personal beliefs...

Seagal

Compared to other stars' attempts at directing (Van Damme's The Quest for one) I think he did a fantastic job with On Deadly Ground, it had top-notch action scenes and something to say.

On Deadly Ground was the first but not bad. Now he is professional. He has too many advantages. He knows action, fighting, he learned too many technical details.. he knows too many countries and cultures, people.. Yes he has vision.. He used wonderful photographs On Deadly Ground. I remembered opening scenes flying helicopter and I remembered bear was wondering on the ice.. etc....
I am sure If he does On Deadly Ground now it would better than the first.. Also I believe he directed the director Into The Sun.. Results is not bad at all huh ??? ;)

Yeah, I loved his vision on On Deadly Ground but imagine that what if he direct Under Siege 3? It should be a really good deal!

I am sure if he wants seriously he does the best !!!!
I believe Steven is not just an actor.. I am feeling he is an artist !!! This is very important...

Yes, he has vision, and yes, when it comes to ecological matters his direction shows his passion in getting his message across .... but when it comes to people, he falls down badly. How can you direct a major artiste like Michael Caine (love him or hate him) and not speak to him or discuss shots. He never spoke to Michael once on the set - how the hell can you direct a major movie, and not talk to your people. It's so bizarre that it has become legend, and once again not to his credit. there are times when even his mother must have despaired of him!!!!
