Jean Claude Van Damme's Derailed & The Replicant Movies

Jean Claude Van Damme has been doing a lot of straight to video movies i see. He hasn't had a movie come to the theatres in a long time. I rented Derailed & The Replicant from the library for free. Both of these movies were good which surprised me. Derailed i like more than the Replicant. Derailed was about Van Damme saving people on a train that had a bomb on it. Some attractive white woman helped him get the people off the train from the hijackers. He was a cop in that. Replicant was about this killer who was killing women but Van Damme was the killer. He was playing 2 parts in this movie. He also played a good guy trying to stop the killer which was himself LOL. There was this one funny scene in Replicant where a prostitute saw Van Damme walking on the street & she wanted to have sex with him. Since Van Damme was a robot, he didn't know much about life. He went to the woman's place with her to have sex & he tried to **** her before he paid her the money. She said where's the money first & he tried to force himself on her cause he didn't know what she was talkin about hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Ya'll ever seen Van Damme's Maximum Risk movie with Natasha Henstridge? Natasha is hot. I remember the scene where they had sex in the bathroom in that movie. Van Damme has made a lot of good movies in the past. Who was that beautiful woman who was in his Double Impact movie? She was his twin brother's girlfriend in the movie.

You like your women Charles. Not seen Derailed yet but The Replicant was a good movie.

His last movie "In Hell" was one of his best movies of late..It had good action and some of his best acting in a while. I saw it about a month ago although it has not been released yet in the US.. He's in pretty good shape in this film as well.

I Belong To Steven
Last one of his I saw was Replicant, I think...It was the one where he had longish hair and sunglasses, not sure of the title...I was not impressed...
Haven't seen any of his movies since then...

I'm not the biggest VD fan but have to admit I'd prefer any of his movies to either Chan or Li. His movies are at least a little more serious and dont have him playing Charlie Chaplin(Chan) or Spiderman(Li)..His fight scenes are more of the old school action films and none of this flying around on wires and at least I can respect that in his movies..The fights are more realisticly choreographed than Li's movies by far..

I like Jet Li's movies. I liked Lethal Weapon 4, Romeo Must Die, Cradle 2 The Grave, Kiss Of The Dragon. LOL@Bridget Fonda playing a prostitute in that movie. Her movie career has gone way downhill. I thought she was sexy in Single White Female & It Could Happen To You movies. LOL@Robert De Niro killing Bridget in Jackie Brown movie cause she kept running her mouth so much & she wouldn't shut up. She was irritating Robert.

Nice to see Van Damme not getting ripped to bits here.No-one said he was in Seagal's league ability wise but his movies often have good humour and action.I like the way he often gets his ass kicked and comes back, heh. Li is ok but only Kiss Of The Dragon and Romeo Must Die were any good really, though some of his Chinese movie stunts are amazing.

Mike - you'd recommend In Hell then? I've been toying with the idea of buying it. What is it like in comparison with the likes of Out For A Kill? Better or worse?

I would'nt but it myself but I dont buy VD films..If you are a fan of Van Damm it was one of his better movies of late and it actually got some good reviews(some said it was his best acting to date). It had some good fights and he looked in pretty good shape.
I still would watch Van Damm video movies before I would watch any Li or Chan theatrically released films..Van Damm does take a good beating in this film but he also dishes it out as well..It was better than I thought it would be and typical Van Damm..I cant tell you if it is worth buying it but if you are a fan of his it was'nt bad..
I thought the fights were better in this than in Out for a Kill..

In Hell

I caught up with In Hell recently and was very impressed and how good and genuinely moving it was in parts. Some great fights and one of the grittiest, near-the-nerve prison movies I have ever seen. Yes it's true Van Damme is really good in it and plays the character extremely well. Very violent stuff and competently made by an excellent director.

About the same

To answer your question Glimmer it's about the same as Out for a Kill, just a different kind of film. But being a Seagal fan naturally I'd go for Out for a Kill. That fight scene with the two monks is out of this world.
