New to the ways of the Seagal

Hi, I'm kind of new to Steven Seagal. I've seen a few of his early 90's films over the years but never particularly appreciated him. Recently however I've been converted to the fan side of the Seagal 'Force'. I like his minimalist style, it makes every line he utters instantly quoteable. His films aren't great but he's like Rutger Hauer, anything he's in is worth seeing just for his presence. I really love his new stuff like Exit Wounds.

I ended up here after reading Vern's review of the latest Seagal flick 'Black Dawn' on aintitcoolnews.com (here is the review, it is very good: http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=21736.)

Anyway hi to y'all.

Of course, beautiful phrase:...anything he's in is worth seeing just for his presence...YES

I like very much Rutger Hauer too.Since Blade Runner....WAW!!What a screen presence! Now is an old man, but I still like him, I saw him as Earl in Batman Begins and he was cool.

Thanks for the review

Hi! Great that there are more Rutger fans here! I've been a fan since Ladyhawke. But yes, Blade Runner is awesome. Rutger's 'tears in rain' speech is one of my favourite film moments. I think Steven Seagal needs just one amazing moment like that and it'll cement his career. People tend to remember that one moment, identify it with an entire career. Seagal has some great ass kicking and wise-assing moments, but not yet the great acting moment. Still, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

They are both charismatic but very different.Seagal trademark is his way of fighting, Rutger is a great actor with his Marlon Brando and Paul Newman influences, handsome big Holland guy, and his trademark mainly is his ironic & sarcastic characters.
When Rutger fimed the beauty Lady Hawk and the unforgettable classic Blade Runner he was young.Steven isn´t a good actor indeed to do the Rutger´s stuff.Steven is fine with his lazy way of acting and a couple of hand to to hand fights. And he was great acting in Out for Justice and Under Siege. The rest aren´t an actor job, in my opinion. He is a martial artist turned actor.

Rutger is cool, you´re welcome
