Laurel Broten, Liberal.
I can tell you now that the "client" for whom I was working, making candidate brochures (those are the brochures that have bios of the candidates, not the issue/party brochures) was the Liberal party, so you might say "my" guys got in.
Talk about getting thumped, though - the Liberals took 71 seats, Tories only got 25 and the NDP with 7 seats have lost their official party status. I'm looking around for a riding map to see where the chips fell. I understand from the news that the 416 area code - Toronto - shut out the Tories altogether, and even a few Tory strongholds in the 905 area code fell to the Liberals.
I'm surprised Ernie got re-elected, though. The last few days of the campaign, I think he'd been hitting the schnapps or something, he was not making any sense at all.
Too bad about the NDP, though. It's going to be a tough road for them over the next few years. I hope they survive and make a come-back in the next election.
Now, on to the municipal elections in November. Do you know we've got 45 people running for mayor and over 200 candidates for 44 city councillor seats? It's nuts, I tell you. It's a good thing I decided not to run for mayor this year - I'd want a smaller playing field!
(You think I'm kidding about running for mayor. I'm not.)
