Reincarnation.

In Buddhism and Hindusim, both religions believe in reincarnation. When you die you are born into another life. For example, once your time is up one can be reborn into an animal or something else which is living. What are your thoughts on reincarnation.

So what do you think if the next life you or one was an insect or an animal?...

This is all just too hard to believe...

Strange though ... as a kid I believed that once somebody died, they were automatically reborn...

But don't you have to be 'enlightened' in order to be reincarnated? Isn't reincarnation something that you have to deserve?

I believe there is a time to be born, and a time to die. (to me that ends with a period not a question mark) I do not plan on coming back to earth when I die. I plan on going home to be with Jesus.

Bring on the rebuttals! :) I expect it now!

There are also teachings in certain mystical Sufism circles that the soul's first birth is the best - the strongest in wisdom. Subsequent births as human beings tend to dilute the wisdom until at some point it ceases to be effective and the gross mind and desires rule the soul instead of the soul ruling the mind and desire. Some believe that we need to obtain enlightenment to actually stop the cycle of rebirths which can eventually dilute the wisdom and the original Light of the Soul into such grossness that one is reborn as an animal/demon in a "human" body; hence the beings who incarnate as terrorists, etc.
Then there are the Beings who consciously reincarnate to help Humankind - they really don't need bodies but they "wear" them so our simple minds don't freak out, so they will seem "normal" to us.
There are also Beings who help Humankind who do not wear bodies/forms at all.
It is sometimes humorous to think of a bug as a relative but it could be true ... for if the Creator's Life is moving all things, seen and unseen, then His Life is within all of everything and that would make us all related since we share that same Source of Life.
Howdy cuz! :) :)

If I well understood the buddhist philosophy, yaour reincarnation depends on your acts during your lifetime. If your harm a lot of people, you'll probly regress to a inferior creature and if you have compassion and try to do some good acts you'll reicarnate with more wisdom each time.
I maybe make a mistake but I think it's something like that. Someone father in the study of buddhism can probably correct me if i'm wrong.

What cause rebirth?

Well all sentinent beings have the Buddha-nature, thier minds are clouded by ignorance since beginning less time. Ignorance springs Craving (Greed) and Aversion (Hatred), which cause us to be continually greedy for life and its illusory pleasures while hating or rejecting death and other displeasures. Each moment of Ignorance was produced from the preceding moment without a beginning. Although Ignorance has no biginning, it can be eradicated through the attainment of Wisdom in Enlightenment.

Is there proof of Rebirth?

Scientific evidence to support the Buddhist belief in rebirth, it is only after-life theory that has strong supportive evidence. During the last 30 years, parapsychologist have been studying reports that some people have vivid memories of thier former lives.

For example, in England, a 5 year old girl said she could remember her "other Mother and Father" and she talked vividly about what sounded like the events in the life of another person. Parapsychologists were called in and they asked hundreds of questions to which she gave answers. She spoke of living in a particular village in what appeared to be Spain, she gave the name of the village, the name of the street she lived in, her neighbours' names ans details about her everyday life there. She also tearfully spoke of how she had been struck by a car and died of her injuries two days later. When these details were checked, hey found to be accurate. There was a village in Spain with the namethe five year old girl had given. There was a house of the type she had described in the street she had named. WHat is more it was found that a twenty year old women living in the house had been killed in a car accident five years before.

Now how is it possible for five year old girl living in England and who had never been to Spain to know all these details? And of course, this is not the only case of this type.

It's puzzling, isn't it?

Some believe we just die and rot as in the poem "Thanatopsis". Other say they will go to paradise which for muslim men seems to promise endless sex but doesn't say what women will find there. I don't know what Christians figure they will be doing besides just resting in their blaze of endless glory??

I prefer to think that in my life after death I do something worth doing besides lying around eating chocolates. Even if I come back as a flower I'll be offering something. Of course I just might be reborn as a weed being such an ornery girl.

Just to make something clear...

Reincarnation and rebirth are different. Enlightened or realized beings reincarnate meaning they get to choose what/where they will be born.
The rest are just bound by the cycle of rebirth in which they have no choice, but it's determined by their karma.

I,m not sure about reincarnation. But i will tell you all something i was reincarnated the day i found jesus. I have no fear of death i embrace death and i try to embrace life however life being the hardest to embrace. If heaven is the place we are led to beleive then may all those poor children of last week in russia find there way into the arms of the lord sometimes our forgiven can be tested.

Personally, I do not believe in reincarnation.
When I die, I hope I have a place in Heaven! :)
"Hope" Kat? When you put your trust in Jesus christ it is "I know" with a period. God and the Bible make that promise.

Hallarian,
Ya know girl, If I trashed your faith as you have just done mine, you would be all over my face as rightfully so. I choose to not be that way. I will NOT trash another persons faith. They are entitled to believe what they want.
I intend to share my faith here as everyone else is allowed to.
Sincerely,
Julie
