Seagal Slams Copycat Actors

STEVEN SEAGAL says other action stars are jealous of him. The Under Siege actor has a low opinion of his rivals because they "copy" him. Steven moaned: "There's one boy who once tried to do stuff with Bruce Lee. And there's another person out there who's always tried to copy me. I think among the real professionals there's camaraderie, but with the others there is jealousy." The 55-year-old, in Glasgow last week with his blues band, also slammed actors who don't do their own stunts. He said: "Most of the so-called action stars these days don't do anything for real."

Yeah I agree most actors don't do anything "real", if by "real" you mean use a stunt man for everything.

He is out of his mind to say something about stunt doubles. I mean for God sake he uses them more than any actor I have evere watched. I have always been a big fan, but the only time he could ever make comments like that(if he really said them) was 15 years ago.

If he indeed said that, then he's pretty stupid. This considering he knows the current state of many of his films, but would ultimately remark about his rivals who are obviously more dedicated and hard-working than he has been in years. If he really did say that, then that's a coward thing to say IMO.

In its "Lost Action Heroes" article, Seagal is #1 and makes some very interesting comments:

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF OTHER ACTION STARS?

"There's a white boy who once tried to do chicken**** stuff with Bruce Lee who to this day is an asshole. And there's another person out there who's always tried to copy me. I think among the real professionals there's a cameraderie, but with the pussies there is some jealousy. I will say that most of the action stars these days don't do anything for real."


Jean-Claude Van Damme is #3 and makes this statement:

"I've never fought Steven Seagal, but we've met. I don't know if he's changed since he became a so-called Buddhist, but he did talk bad about me with no good reason. He should not do that. I've got great respect for Steven for his charismatic face, but now he is cranking out movies and people make fun of him for his weight. I advise him to take a break and take less salary."

Sure. He can say what he wants. But come on! He disses other actors because they use stunt doubles for action-stunts. And Steven itselfs uses stunt-doubles for getting out of a bed, or wakling over the street.
