No Demolition For Seagal
Action superstar Steven Seagal will not play John Spartan in the upcoming blockbuster Demolition Man after dropping out of the film over 'creative differences' Word is the Under Siege black belt was none too happy that tapdancing fellow asskicker Jean-Claude Van Damme was going to be in the movie and that an ensuing tug of war about who would play who would end up with Seagal playing a role he didn't want. Mick La Plant of gossip magazine 'First Run' reports: 'Van Damme wanted to play the good guy, and beat up Seagal, apparently it is one of his fantasies to beat up Seagal. Seagal on the other hand wanted to be the good guy so that he wouldnt look bad on screen losing to Jean-Claude'. Despite audiences losing out on the sight of watching two of the biggest box office asskickers duke it out, the only more dissapointed people are the producers. One reportedly said 'He[Seagal] was whinging over playing the bad guy role; Van Damme was willing to take a pay cut to play the good guy and that's what we initially offered him, Seagal came back and said 'But you offered me this' and we told him Van Damme basically would take less to kick your ass on screen. Steven didn't like that 'Oh like anyone's going to beleive that' he said to me. I told him 'Steven its just a film' and I sort of appeased his pride a bit, he said 'Okay fine, if you pay me more', that's what we fell out over'.
Other reports say Van Damme didnt want to star alongside Seagal citing that 'I have no chemistry with him'; The Under Siege star when questioned over the phone by Hollywood columnist Katie Price allegedly quipped 'That's rubbish, does he want to make a movie with me or *beep* me?'.
Either way we'll have to wait to see these two duke it out on the big screen
