If you want Steven to get even more pissed off at his fans, sure, go ahead and post it and see what happens.
First of all, it was an invasion of privacy for the hacker to steal Paris Hilton's phonebook from her cell. Secondly, it's an invasion of privacy for the people in her phonebook to have that list published. Thirdly, it's harrassment and an unbelievable hassle for the people on that phone list who will now have to have new numbers so that they don't get prank or crank phone calls from everybody on the planet instead of from the people they really want to talk to.
This idea that celebrities do not have any rights whatsoever when it comes to privacy is something that's been perpetuated by the supermarket tabloids. I've gotten crank phone calls and I'm not even a celebrity; they've run the gamut from annoying to downright terrifying. I cannot imagine what it would be like for the unfortunate celebrity whose phone number was in that cell and which has now been published.
There are lots of people named "Segal"; the liklihood of it being Steven is slim, probably none.
But go ahead and publish the number. Disrespect the man's privacy; after all, he's a celebrity, and that makes him fair game, right? And if it isn't him, no harm done, right?
And oh, by the way - did you miss this site's being hacked this week? If you didn't, and were just as upset as the rest of us when it happened, perpetuating the crime - and it is a crime, make no mistake about that - of another hacker seems a bit two-faced, don't you think?
-TD, not much caring about that piece of white trash Paris Hilton, but nevertheless respecting her right not to have her privacy invaded by hackers
