Does this mean *you* will send it on my behalf...? How nice! ;-P

Hey Girl, you don't know the small shop where I get my "special treat" chocolate, freshly made every day... there can be no better chocolate than that one...

Oh, wait... you send me a sample first, so I can compare and judge, what about that...? ;-)))

Jampa

P.S.: In order to make a "reliable" judgement, I do neet a *big* sample...

On the Steven Seagal Current Month TV Schedule page it has

Biography
Steven Seagal
Actor Steven Seagal skyrockets to fame with his action-packed performance in ``Above the Law.''. 60 minutes- (CC), N

Wed Dec 22 10:00P on A&E
Thu Dec 23 02:00A on A&E

Does anyone know if it is just about Above the Law? Or is is it 60 minutes of his Biography? If his biography is suppose to come out next year. I was just wondering.

Interesting, Kathy. Good catch! :)

I don't know how accurate that listing is, as the schedule on the A&E site and Biography only goes through December 15th. There are no biographies listed beyond yet that for the month, and no mention of Steven other than a biography page. Hopefully that TV listing is correct! :) We'll have to keep watching A&E for updates on their schedule for the month.

I wont mind if its only about Above The Law and the early movies, They were the best of the best, and I'd hope they'd have alot of unseen or heard information or clips which would be really cool to see, as they have probably been buried for years in dusty draws at WB/FOX.

I have seen several A&E Biography's and they usually cover more of whole career than just one movie.
Jampa and Pantera do you both want a copy?

He started his martial arts training at the age of seven, and traveled to Japan to pursue his passion. But after breaking new ground in his chosen field, he found fame in another.

Steven Seagal burst onto the scene with 1998's Above the Law. Fans wondered where he had come from, and when the story came out, they were sure they were being fed a line by the Hollywood publicity machine. But as BIOGRAPHY® details, it was all true. Steven Seagal is not only a martial arts master, he is the only Caucasian in history to own and run an aikido dojo in Japan. While his star may have faded somewhat in recent years, he remains one of the more compelling figures in show business, a man of deep convictions who took advantage of the pleasures that fame affords without letting them cloud his vision.

If someone can tape it,we could arrange the deal to make its way to Estonia.
As per my PM, Tora, I'll add it to the other one on the tape. :) You sure you'll be able to review this region videotape? I myself don't know what kind of machine you have or the differences.

Speaking of sending tapes Serena, did you ever get a chance to send the Seagal E! True Hollywood Story to me? :D :D

PAL vs. NTSC

Serena, there are places all over that will rewrite the material from one format onto another tape. It's fast, easy, and relatively cheap. Here for example, if you bring your own second blank tape onto which re-record the needed material (so that you can play it in your own player) all it costs is the price of the tape for the procedure.

A more expansive approach would be acquiring a dual region VCR, which at this point I think would first, be difficult to find seeing as everything sold nowadays is digitized, and second might be unwise to spend $500 on a machine you'd use to view one tape.

No, sorry, littledragon. :( As you may or may not have known, I had that bronchitis for a couple weeks that everyone here has had, then developed pneumonia right after that, for which I had to have four days' worth of IV antibiotics, which I just finished last week. All excuses, I know--but the truth! :D

I have your tape, Tora's and Suzi's. I've already told them I'll be recording the A&E Biography special on Steven on the same tape, so I will mail yours when I mail theirs.

Sorry about that, littledragon.

Thank you, yudansha! I appreciate that explanation. I've always wondered exactly what NTSC format was, as I see the Path Beyond Thought is currently still available only in that format.

That's interesting about rewriting from one format to another! I had no idea that was available.
And I'm pretty sure Suzi told me before she has a dual region VCR.

Thanks for the great explanation, Yudansha. :)
And for keeping it simple enough for even me to understand. :D
Still not sure if Tora will be able to view the tape I'm sending her, though.

Yes, I am much better than I was, littledragon--thank you! :)

So I figure I'll be mailing all of those tapes on Monday. I'm sure you'll be watching the A&E Biography episode and recording it at home, but would you like me to record it also on the same tape as the E! True Hollywood Story before I mail it? I'd be glad to, if you'd like. :)

Wow Serena, you're a fighter! Bronchitis and then pheumonia in succession!

It's like taking on Bruce Lee, agreeing on a tie just to see that Steven Seagal was next in line to try you on! :D

You're welcome for the explanation. Another thing with these formats is that if you try to play a PAL coded video tape on your own (NTSC format) VCR, it may play, but the picture may be distorted. Some times (depending on the brand, and quality of the VCR you've got), the tape will play well, but the picture will be B&W even if it was recorded as colour (something to do with the VCR's decoder picking up the coding signal of the tape but not picking up the colour translation to send to the amp - being the TV). Anyways, I'm sure there are places everywhere that will rewrite your video tape to any format that's currently available (it's just a matter of $ ... in this case, it's not much).
