What Song Reflects Your Current Mode Of Thinking.

I always did love this song, and I always did love driving. It's a great cruising song. ;)
I thought of you, Lollipop, as I found myself humming this song. :)
Well, except the part about the truckstop cutie. :D

Driving My Life Away
Eddie Rabbitt

Well the midnight headlight find you on a rainy night
steep grade up ahead slow me down makin no time
gotta keep rollin
those windshield wipers slappin out a tempo
keepin perfect rhythm with the song on the radio
gotta keep rolling

Ooh I'm driving my life away, looking for a better way, for me
ooh I'm driving my life away, looking for a sunny day

Well the truck stop cutie comin' on to me
tried to talk me into a ride said I wouldn't be sorry
but she was just a baby
well waitress pour me another cup of coffee
pop me down jack me up shoot me out flyin down the highway
lookin for the morning

Ooh I'm driving my life away, looking for a better way, for me
ooh I'm driving my life away, looking for a sunny day

Well the midnight headlight find you on a rainy night
steep grade up ahead slow me down makin no time
gotta keep rollin
those windshield wipers slappin out a tempo
keepin perfect rhythm with the song on the radio
gotta keep rolling

Ooh I'm driving my life away, looking for a better way, for me
ooh I'm driving my life away, looking for a sunny day

Yes, those are excellent songs! I also love "Turn the Page". Now there's a haunting song about a rough life if ever there was one. And "Like a Rock", too. They sure don't write them like that any more.

Turn the Page:

Here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage.
Here I go, playing star again.
There I go, turn the page.

Like a Rock:

Like a rock, I was strong as I could be
Like a rock, nothin’ ever got to me
Like a rock, I was something to see
Like a rock

I've been listening to Bob Seger all night.

I just love this song--and this talented singer.
This one song I dedicate to me. :D

Like a Rock
Words and music by Bob Seger

Stood there boldly
Sweatin’ in the sun
Felt like a million
Felt like number one
The height of summer
I’d never felt that strong
Like a rock

I was eighteen
Didn’t have a care
Working for peanuts
Not a dime to spare
But I was lean and
Solid everywhere
Like a rock

My hands were steady
My eyes were clear and bright
My walk had purpose
My steps were quick and light
And I held firmly
To what I felt was right
Like a rock

Like a rock, I was strong as I could be
Like a rock, nothin’ ever got to me
Like a rock, I was something to see
Like a rock

And I stood arrow straight
Unencumbered by the weight
Of all these hustlers and their schemes
I stood proud, I stood tall
High above it all
I still believed in my dreams

Twenty years now
Where’d they go?
Twenty years
I don’t know
Sit and I wonder sometimes
Where they’ve gone

And sometimes late at night
When I’m bathed in the firelight
The moon comes callin’ a ghostly white
And I recall
Recall

Like a rock. standin’ arrow straight
Like a rock, chargin’ from the gate
Like a rock, carryin’ the weight
Like a rock

Lihe a rock, the sun upon my skin
Like a rock, hard against the wind
Like a rock, I see myself again
Like a rock

Didn't they us Like a Rock in a Truck commercial? No, music is not the same the lyrics have changed!

On the road again, just can't wait to get on the road again. The life of love is making music with my friends and I can't wait to get on the road again.

When you get your cd, read and then listen to SS lyrics, I think some are really good! I hope he gets a fair shake here in the states. I think he has done well for himself.

Yes, they did use "Like a Rock" for the Chevy commercials for years. They may still, I don't know. And I think the words were the same. I read once where he could live off the royalties from that song alone for rest of his life--as could his children and grandchildren. :D

"On the Road Again" by Willie Nelson!! :) Great song, Lollip! I love the song and Willie Nelson. Now there's another song that's going to be running through my mind the rest of the night. :D

On the Road Again
Willie Nelson

On the road again
Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin' music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again
On the road again
Goin' places that I've never been
Seein' things that I may never see again,
And I can't wait to get on the road again.

On the road again
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends
Insisting that the world be turnin' our way
And our way
Is on the road again
Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin' music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again

On the road again
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends
Insisting that the world be turnin' our way
And our way
Is on the road again

Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin' music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again
And I can't wait to get on the road again

Wish I had seen Steven on that CMT special.

Yeh, I liked Willie, Waylon and the boys!!! SS was on a special on CMT commenting on the outlaws.
And there's another great song! :D
I'm learning just how much we have in common with our taste in music--and Steven's smiles. :D

Waylon Jennings's song, "Luckenback, Texas"--great song! I'm not into country music a whole lot, but I liked songs like this. :)

Let's go to Luckenbach Texas with Waylon and Willie and the boys.
This successful life we're livin' got us fueding like the Hatfield and McCoys.
Between Hank Williams pain songs, Newberry's train songs, and blue eyes cryin' in the rain.
Out in Luckenbach Texas, ain't nobody feelin' no pain.

"If that ain't country" we would sing with my girlfriends on our way to the beach! I lived about 3 hours from the coast!

Potters Clay
Legacy~ by Nichole Nordeman

I don't mind if you've got something nice to say about me
And I enjoy an accolade like the rest
And you could take my picture and hang it in a gallery
Of all the Who's Who's and So-and So's
That used to be the best at such and such
It wouldn't matter much

I won't lie, it feels alright to see your name in lights
We all need an "Atta boy" or "Atta girl"
But in the end I'd like to hang my hat on more besides
The temporary trappings of this world

CHORUS
I want to leave a legacy
how will they remember me?
Did I choose to love?
Did I point to You(Jesus) enough?
To make a mark on things
I want to leave an offering
A child of mercy and grace
Who blessed Your name unapologetically
And leave that kind of legacy

I don't have to look too far or too long awhile
To make a lengthy list of all that I enjoy
It's an accumulating trinket and a treasure pile
Where moth and rust, theives and such will soon
enough destroy

Not well-traveled, not well-read
Not well-to-do, or well-bred
Just want to hear instead
Well done, good and faithful one

CHORUS
I want to leave a legacy
How will they remember me?
Did I choose to love?
Did I point to You(Jesus) enough?
To make a mark on things
I want to leave an offering
A child of mercy and grace
Who blessed Your name unapologetically
And leave that kind of legacy

I don't mind if you've got something nice to say about me.:)
