that would have been after the expiration of the Warner contract....you mean you think that after House of Thunder never came about he opted to do "The Patriot"?????????????

Actually, after "Man of Honor" was pulled Seagal was offered his first directing job in "On Deadly Ground". He was set to direct "Man Of Honor" and when it was pulled by Roth of Twentieth Century Fox, Warner Bros jumped in and offered Seagal his directing debut with ODG. Man Of Honor was weeks into filming and Seagal even put some of his own money into the project and a big money backer(I think from Saudi Arabia or somwhere pulled his money from the film). Seagal actually sued this guy a few years back for 30 million( I dont know if there ever was an outcome)
