Any update information on Prince of Pistols?

Is there any new information about Seagal's new film titled Prince of Pistols which is being filmed in New Orleans? Any ideas of what's the plot going to be? And is it confirmed that Seagal is directing the film? And how long would the filming be? And is there any release date being set for this film yet? but I know it won't be released this year. It'll be released sometime early to mid of 2007.

All I know at present is that it is (should be) currently filming in New Orleans, and yes, there was a rumour that Steven was going to direct it himself.

Plot and other details will come as we find the information.

Steven's official site does not seem to post any information about his work in the movies - it's strictly his music interests that's being showcased there.

We have to find out the hard way - through various sources, and, of course, through the hardworking efforts of our own, Super Spy Suzi!

I hope so...I'm looking forward into this movie than his next two dtv films. And when it comes to Seagal being on director's chair...I know he'll pull off the goods that we truly missed from his earlier films. I'm expecting the action would be non-stop just like what he did for On Deadly Ground. I have a faith in him to make it good and owe it to us.

Well for one thing that we know for sure that Harvester will be a dtv movie. Just had a good feeling that it doesn't have enough guarantee to be released in theaters and plus no one knew who the director was. So that's why Prince of Pistols is a good one to be out in theaters. And I think Harvester would be released on dvd shortly before Prince of Pistols come out to theaters in 2007.

Because I would like to see him in a Dutch cinema in 2007, the only film I've seen in theater of Steven Seagal was Exit Wounds...

not only in america, I'd take it that it'd be out worldwide but have to wait and see what they are going to say. I'm not really familiar with worldwide thing of which movie would be released. So...yeah I agree with you that it's time to see a good Seagal movie on a big screen again after a long while. But I'm glad that this time is right because Seagal is directing the film himself as from what I heard.

ahh okay, thanks for that update. I had a hunch that Prince of Pistols wouldn't be filming right now and I think Seagal would need 2 to 3 months to film the movie so as seeing that if he began filming earlier this month then there would be no chance of finishing up the movie by September because it seemed that they would need some extra time to get things right and done especially when Screen Gems is targeting for a theaterical release for this film. Plus, he had few concert to do when he's out of country again in September so I'm guessing if he goes ahead to do his concert in Europe then it is a good chance that he'd postpone the filming until October but if he cancels the tour then the filming would be sooner.

And Joe isn't even sure if Seagal is going to direct the film by himself??? God, I swear to god Seagal better do it! Because he's too long overdue to do a movie by himself even 12 years has gone by already so when it is confirmed that he is directing the film then something will tell us after we find out more about the film.

Ohhh okay thanks for small hints of what Prince of Pistols would be about... at least something would end up good about that film. I think we'd expect lots of action and of course if there is hand to hand combats like when someone mentioned that it'll have several of it then we'll be seeing Seagal chreograph the fight scenes this time which would be a great thing. Actually, I think this film is a kind of film that Seagal owes us to see.

No new updates yet? It looks likely the filming won't happen until October/November and I think it's better to hold the filming because at this present time, it's a hurricane season so I'm sure he don't want to delay the filming when it happens so it's a good date that the movie won't be out until October of 2007. I would say October 5th, 2007 at the least. It's a better release date to avoid the holidays. Screen Gems better don't release the film in November then if it happens then it would hurt even more because of Half Past Dead being completely wrecked by movies that are targeted for holidays.

Seagal's concert schedule is already stretched out well into September and as yet there is no fixed end date to the tour. It seems to me that the tour was not booked in advance and that Seagal's people just keep arranging new dates for him. Of course it will end eventually, and only then will work on Prince of Pistols (2007) begin, if at all.

It seems to me that this film, despite being of interest to Seagal is not one of his priorities right now. I think there is a possibilty that it will not film until the fall or not even till next year. It sounds like it will have a bigger budget than usual so who ever is bank rolling the film will want everything to be right before filming begins. I think we could also see this film slip into the background, as Seagal is offered more easy and immediate DTV work by Andrew Stevens and others. I sincerely hope this is not the case.

I also think that we should not all build ourselves up for a cinema release too much. We all had that feeling about Into the Sun (2005) yet it only had a limited theatrical release in Japan. We should not forget that this film was also written by Seagal and Joe Halpin and featured topics of interest to Seagal.

I think the fact that this film is written by Seagal, is the only one talked about on his website and from what we know sounds like a departure from his other films, means we could end up with something quite diffrent from what a lot of us are expecting. Seagal seems unwilling to participate in many fight scenes these days and is content to play his music. He has already stated he will do this in the film so I think that we may see minimal fight scenes from him. It does not sound like a routine action picture. The fact there is a possibilty Seagal will direct may also mean the film is something diffrent from the non stop action of On Deadly Ground (1994). Seagal has changed a lot in the last 12 years and I think as a director he will want to feature things that he is interested in now. To me this will mean less fights and more music?

Yeah, I know what you're saying and I'm not having any high hopes but since when it comes to Seagal's directing for this one, there is a good possibility that it'd make a difference compared to his past DTV films so we'll see what happens but the better they wait the bigger budget would happen so it could be better-made film. And the other thing... we haven't seen Seagal cherograph most of fight scenes in a long while. I'm expecting in terms of action would be similar to The Glimmer Man which he didn't do much fighting but the film had pure excitement is what I would like to see in Prince of Pistols. Or here's an idea...he might want to push the film little futher so he might would get a chance to lose some weight to get in some kind of shape for this one so who knows? And we haven't heard much of plot for this one either, just so little at details so we have to wait until we hear a full plot for this one then we might know what we'd expect for this film. If Screen Gems is targeting this film for a theaterical release then it has to guartanee that it would have plenty of good action. Like I said in other posts from anywhere in this site about this film that we have to see and what Seagal would pull off this time around since it would be his 2nd directing effort.
