here is a copy of a comic strip done by a student of mine
in 1990.
The guy thought of me when writing this!
since I was his teacher it seemed logical for him!LOL!
Hope you like it?

I did enjoy that! :D Imagine that--being an inspiration for a comic strip! ;)
Just think--now you're immortal! :D

Thanks for sharing that, Lonewolf. :) I thought it was pretty cool!

(P.S. For those of you who don't know--to enlarge a pic to read it once you've clicked the attachment, if you're using Internet Explorer, move your cursor slowly around the bottom right corner until a button appears, then click that to enlarge. If you're using Netscape, once you've clicked on the attachment, just put your cursor anywhere on the pic and then click.)

Hey What about this one?
"Young teacher the subject of schoolgirl fantasy.
she wants him so badly, knows what she wants to be!
Inside her there's no way, this girl's an open page!
Bookmarker, she's so close ,this Girl is half his age."
I think it's too easy!!!LOL!!!
I knew this one even without the help of my pal Google. :D I liked Police a lot! Good song here. :)

Don't Stand So Close to Me
Police

Young teacher, the subject
Of schoolgirl fantasy
She wants him so badly
Knows what she wants to be
Inside her there’s longing
This girl’s an open page
Book marking - she’s so close now
This girl is half his age

Don’t stand, don’t stand so
Don’t stand so close to me

Her friends are so jealous
You know how bad girls get
Sometimes it’s not so easy
To be the teacher’s pet
Temptation, frustration
So bad it makes him cry
Wet bus stop, she’s waiting
His car is warm and dry

Don’t stand, don’t stand so
Don’t stand so close to me

Loose talk in the classroom
To hurt they try and try
Strong words in the staffroom
The accusations fly
It’s no use, he sees her
He starts to shake and cough
Just like the old man in
That book by nabakov

Don’t stand, don’t stand so
Don’t stand so close to me

Don’t stand, don’t stand so
Don’t stand so close to me

Hello everyone!
I wish I could make some of you know some Good French singers,
therefore I'll do a bit of Translating!
Do some of you know these lyrics(Thanks Goggle!!LOL!)
Now the translation:"
...If you met a mason and a carpenter who were renovating
a Bulgarian castle which had been disenchanted for one thousand years!
They would tell you that you died centuries before your Life.
and that the sky still remembers your very last scream!...
They 'd be telling you that in another life you were A Barbarian King,
that at the corner of your bed some weird butlers were pouring down
some Blue Grapes flowing in Large cups...!
That in your stables your nicest Black Horses were expecting war
would take you to other games, and tha tin this othe rLife you were Happy!"
However sloppy you find this translation ,it was done in ten minutes
upon aA Very difficult poetic song!
So I did my best in ten minutes ,if I took more time the poetry would probably be better!
So Who sing ?and what is the title?
Peace!

Hi, Lonewolf. That's quite a song you have there! It may have taken you 10 minutes to translate, but it took me a lot longer to search for it--and I couldn't find it. :D

I didn't find the translation "sloppy" at all. You managed to paint a very vivid picture with your words here, and I thank you for taking the time to translate it. :) I remember you saying in another thread you liked "gothic" type music, and this certainly is that type. I liked what I saw. I used to read gothic type novels when I was younger and this song seems to have that same eerie quality. It would be nice to hear how the music suits the lyrics.

Thanks for sharing it here. :)
Maybe Lollipop will have better luck than me finding the song. ;)
We're both Google goddesses. :D

hello serena,
It's not Gothic at all!
It's a French pop Song by Michel Sardou.
this guy always says that he is not the main protagonist in his songs,
maybe he likes what he sings anyway!
The song is called "Un Roi barbare"/A barbarian King"(not Barbaric, just Barbarian)!!LOL!!!
I do like his songs because he sings about France in an Historical perspective!
You know I love History!
When I was a student I learned about American History as well,I read the federalist and "Common Sense" by Thomas Paine!
as well as Alexis de Tocqueville!
Back to the song,I am glad you liked it!!
Peace!

Lonewolf - are you Dr. Burp? Ha ha ha!

He said he had the key to heaven’s gate
I said: I’ll wait for the movie ’cause I been there before
And learned: life is a battle and love is war"

Well, I guess something there was "Lost in Translation", eh? :D Through no fault of yours! :) One really does need to a hear a song to fully appreciate it--the lyrics alone just aren't enough. Maybe you'll sing it for us some day, eh? ;) :D

I looked up the book "Common Sense". 1776! Was that required reading as a student, or did you choose to? You do have a love of history! I've known a few men who have and were quite passionate about it. It was fascinating just listening to them bring the past to life--much better than reading a book. :D

You're excused. :D

Bonny Portmore
Loreena McKennitt

O bonny Portmore, you shine where you stand
And the more I think on you the more I think long
If I had you now as I had once before
All the lords in Old England would not purchase Portmore.

O bonny Portmore, I am sorry to see
Such a woeful destruction of your ornament tree
For it stood on your shore for many's the long day
Till the long boats from Antrim came to float it away.

O bonny Portmore, you shine where you stand
And the more I think on you the more I think long
If I had you now as I had once before

All the Lords in Old England would not purchase Portmore.

All the birds in the forest they bitterly weep
Sighing, "Where shall we shelter or where shall we sleep?"
For the Oak and the Ash, they are all cutten down
And the walls of bonny Portmore are all down to the ground.

O bonny Portmore, you shine where you stand
And the more I think on you the more I think long
If I had you now as I had once before
All the Lords of Old England would not purchase Portmore.

Lollipop,I am good at guessing the songs but not so good!LOL!!
I do like everyone...I use Google!LOL!
You jus ttype the beginning of the song and that's it!!!

I was doing a Master in US/British language and I had chosen
History as an Option,we learned all about the founding fathers, the Mayflower, the Boston Tea Party, the witches of Salem and so Forth!
I think that even though American History is not as Old as European History
you have lots of interesting events!!!
English History is fine too!LOL!!!even though we were more than often
at War with England!!!LOL!!!
GLAD these times are over because English people are Nice too!!!
Serena,I like Michel Sardou but if I ever sang one of his songs

Sure, Lonewolf, I'd be glad to. :) Is it easier for you to email it as an attachment? I can convert it on my computer to a .JPEG and either return it to you via email, or just add it to your post--whichever you prefer. I'm sure we'd all enjoy seeing your pic, so just let me know. :)

I have a fascination with sharks, and have probably seen just about every special on TV about them. LOL But really, I love watching any shows about the inhabitants of our oceans, but most especially, I think, the Arctic and Antarctic areas.

HI!
Any Shark Specialists around here?
I was told it was a Blue Shark or a Grey shark!
At the time I was snorkeling in Brittony, one day a guy saw this Shark,
they organized a Hunt and somehow killed him!
Well,I felt relieved when this one was caught,In France it does not happen often!
One has to go quite far actually but we have Dangerous sharks as well!
Who did "Shooting Shark"?
Probably some who like Oysters!!!LOLPeace!

What a HUGE shark--and a huge picture. :D

Why did they kill this shark, do you know? Was it too close to shore, or endangering peoples' lives somehow? Rather a shame to see such a magnificent creature end up like this.

And, by the way, it WAS Blue Oyster Cult who did Shooting Shark. :D

Smile dammit!
Life is a game,
In all but name,
You roll your dice,
Sometimes not nice.

But take all the luck,
And don't let life ****,
It's on that fine line,
That life get's like wine.

Take all of that juice,
That sets forth your sluice,
Grab all of life's chance,
And take that last dance.

Don't look down your nose,
Or strike a cool pose,
At the guy in that suit,
Who loved you till mute!!:D;)

Hi!
Well,I don't like killing anything but this Shark had been too close to the people swimming, the French Coast Guard sshot it with a rifle!
I am also fascinated with Sharks but when I go snorkeling I have only my Knife and a special camera,I don't kill anything!
I respect the Sea!
It's sad this one had to be killed but I don't feel like getting slain just because
I went swimming!!
I have never met a Shark while snorkeling!
It would probably scare the Living Sh1t out of me!!!LOL!
Peace!
