Hello !
Yes Indeed I was talking about Screamin' Jay Hawkins, the Voodoo Blues
Man!!!LOL!!
he was so funny, how sad he died so early!!!
The irony being that he died of ,well, of 'constipation' so to speak!
Peace!
I had to do a little more checking on this guy, and was surprised to find I actually did know him. But more from a song he made in 1956 (I'm a huge oldies fan  :D) called "I Put a Spell On You".

He wasn't as young when he died as I thought, having been born in July of 1929 and dying in February of 2000.

And apparently he fancied himself quite the ladies man. ;) :D I found this quote: "Hawkins left many children by many women. About 55 were known (or suspected) upon his death, and upon investigation, that number "soon became perhaps 75 offspring." I think this guy invented the word "groupies". :D

This was a highly recommended site, which had the following quote:

"12 February 2000: Screamin' Jay Hawkins dies in Neuilly-sur-Seine (France) near Paris at the age of 70. According to the Associated Press he underwent surgery earlier in the week to treat an aneurysm at the Ambroise Pave clinic and subsequently suffered multiple organ failure.

Hawkins was often quoted as saying, "When I go, I don't want to be buried. I've been in too many damn coffins already!" :D

you're a human Being born of a mother with
the love of a father

Police naw give you no break
Soldier naw give you no break
Not even you idren naw give you no break

Sung by: The group on GlimmerMan's signature. :D

Who'd believe with the
Way things are here
We'd be going anywhere
Telling people how to live?
Who'd believe we'd spend more
Shipping drugs and guns
Than to educate our sons?
Sorry, but that's what they did

I can't help but think,
I can't help but think,
I can't help but think
Someone's foresaken you and me

Luck deserted me and
The truth beat out my brains
Men rise on stepping stones
Of their selves to higher things
I've stepped over lots of
Bodies on my way
Thanks for the information
Don't need no more anything

I can't help but think,
I can't help but think,
I can't help but think
Someone's foresaken you and me

We are the damned of all the world
With saddness in our hearts
The wounded of the wars
We've been hung out to dry
You didn't want us anyway
And now we're making up our minds
You tell us how to run our lives
We run for youthanasia

We are the damned of all the world
With saddness in our hearts
The wounded of the wars
We've been hung out to dry
You didn't want us anyway
And now we're making up our minds
You tell us how to run our lives
We run for youthanasia

We are the damned of all the world
With saddness in our hearts
The wounded of the wars
We run for youthanasia

JON BON JOVI - Blaze Of Glory Lyrics

I wake up in the morningAnd I raise my weary head
I've got an old coat for a pillow
And the earth was last night's bed
I don't know where I'm going
Only God knows where I've been
I'm a devil on the run
A six gun lover
A candle in the wind

When you're brought into this world
They say you're born in sin
Well at least they gave me something
I didn't have to steal or have to win
Well they tell me that I'm wanted
Yeah, I'm a wanted man
I'm a colt in your stable
I'm what Cain was to Abel
Mister catch me if you can

I'm going out in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
I'm going out in a blaze of glory
Lord I never drew first
But I drew first blood
I'm no one's son
Call me young gun

You ask about my conscience
And I offer you my soul
You ask if I'll grow to be a wise man
Well I ask if I'll grow old
You ask me if I've known love
And what it's like to sing songs in the rain
Well, I've seen love come
And I've seen it shot down
I've seen it die in vain

Shot down in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
'Cause I'm going down in a blaze of glory
Lord I never drew first
But I drew first blood
I'm the devil's son
Call me young gun

(solo)

Each night I go to bed
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
No I ain't looking for forgiveness
But before I'm six foot deep
Lord, I got to ask a favor
And hope you'll understand
'Cause I've lived life to the fullest
Let this boy die like a man
Staring down a bullet
Let me make my final stand

Shot down in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
I'm going out in a blaze of glory
Lord I never drew first
But I drew first blood
And I'm no one's son
Call me young gun
I'm a young gun

Yes the The Kingston Trio, Irving Berlin, Bruce Springsteen and written by Woody Guthrie!

This Land Is Your Land

This land is your land
This land is my land
From California
To the New York island
From the red wood forest
To the Gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me

As I went walkin' that ribbon of a highway
I saw above me that endless skyway
I saw below me that golden valley
This land was made for you and me

This land is your land
This land is my land
From California to the New York island
From the red wood forest
To the Gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me

I roamed and rambled
And I followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond desert
And all around me a voice was sounding
This land was made for you and me

This land is your land
This land is my land
From California to the New York island
From the red wood forest
To the Gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me

The sun came shining
And I was strolling
And the wheat fields waving
And the dust clouds rolling
As the fog was lifting a voice was calling
This land was made for you and me

This land is your land
This land is my land
From California to the New York island
From the red wood forest
To the Gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me
This land was made for you and me

I don't care that much about him, but my DR. has poster's all over every exam room he has!!! :D I did like the one song he did with Clarence Clemmons "You're a Friend of Mine" :apeace:
I looked for the lyrics, they show Clarence Clemmons singing with Jackson Brown!! I was wrong!! But they did sing in concert together and I saw it on video on MTV!

Hello Serena,
I Love TV Shows featuring Great Martial artists like Chuck Norris!
jeffrey Meek was quite Good too in Raven!!!
Even Though Chuck Norris is a greater Martial Artist than Jeff!
Highlander was Cool too!!!
Especially in season two when he practised in his Dojang!!
I read he was into Hung-Gar kung-Fu!
OK,Now more difficult,I give you a clue,it's not the song proper it's the
beginning of the introduction to the CD!
"In the Beginning Good always overpowered the Evil of all Man's Sins
but in Time the Nations Grew Weak while Evil stood strong,
in the Dusts of Hell lurked the Blackest of Hate, for he whom they feared awaited them!"
Only true Hard Rock fans know this!!!LOL!!!
Peace!

Motley Crue : Shout at the Devil

In the beginning
Good always overpowered the evils
Of all man's sins...
But in time
The nations grew weak
And our cities fell to slums
While evil stood strong...
In the dusts of hell
Lurked the blackest of hates
For he whom they feared
Awaited them...
Now, many many lifetimes later
Lay destroyed, beaten, beaten down
Only the corpses of rebels
Ashes of dreams
And blood-stained streets.......
And it has been written
"Those who have the youth
Have the future"
So come now, children of the beast
Be strong
And Shout at the Devil

Smile dammit!
Blaze of Glory is a great song, and the lyrics are spot on.
I watched Walker too Serena when it was on.He sure moved quick for an old man.
Chuck is a good guy,on and off screen.
Lonewolf,i was a big Highlander fan and Adrian Paul was great in the tv series. I think i liked him even more than Lambert in the movies.
The clue to this song is.."i don't wanna live forever". Easy:D
