Ein Filmfeuilletonist liebt ihn wirklich, Roger Ebert: „He can play tender and he can play smart ...“

Suzi,
I put this through Babel's translation software. It doesn't translate too well -- it is like reading a puzzle. Plus, German words that couldn't be translated are still in here. You need to find a German person for a real translation. This is the problem that I had with translating all of the Japanese webpages on Kentaro Seagal. In any case, here is the translation:

It preserves the hard in its films, but, two numbers smaller. Thus generally the American criticism describes its work, and swings then gladly to malicious sueffisanter irony up. The large city feuilletons, which get involved in the meantime seriously in Schwarzenegger, see the Gernegross, over 1,80, which rather should have remained with its borders in Seagal only? with its Martial kind school, which it had in Japan. Instead it schustert now simple revenge and pieces of flogging together, how?Hard tons of Kill? or?Under victories? or?Executive Decision?. Films from those Vorzeit, there Berry resounds still as a hostess acted, and of them heroes are equipped with an imperturbable Sauriertraegheit and - gutmuetigkeit, which goes to one easily on the nerves. One, which takes off, in order to make itself ridiculous? and that no fear of it has. In one of its films it carries a Pferdeschwaenzchen, in the next goes it to the fair into the church, later must it? in former times a case of meadow management? on the policeman school bench after-sit. Once it is called also completely simply? The Chosen One?. Steven Seagal does not have doubts to play the chosen one it to today its sense of community retained itself, and makes so special its films. Never did it, as for instance Schwarzenegger, form itself egozentrisch, its new film?Half Past DEAD? by Don Michael Paul, who runs straight in the cinemas, begins with marvelous reflections around friendship and loyalty, a small Etuede in film noir tendency. Seagal can be transferred into a futuristic high safety prison, in order to draw from a death candidate its million-treasure secret there. In the process of the film it leaves the Action to the black Kids: HipHop took over the category anyway world-wide. In?On Deadly Ground? it led direction, Action in the oil business in Alaska, and Michael Caine as a contractor looked for themselves. Mostly it had good directors?Exit John Flynn or the ingenious Bartkowiak in Wounds?. A film feuilletonist really loves it, Roger Ebert: CAN play tender and he CAN play smart...?

Sometimes I'll have to put it thru 3-4 translators to try and get a clear understanding......

Yeah, I tried Babel Fish, but it came out the nonsensical rubbish you posted. The trouble is that it translates words, not idioms, and I suspect film-talk is highly idiomatic.

Here is my translation - i hope you understand it (ps.: i am from germany )

He tries to do "die Hard" in his films, but only one or two numbers smaller. That's how Americans critics talk about his work, with a touch of irony. In big-city-newspapers, that nowadays tend to see schwarzenegger as an "real" actor, seagal is always mentioned as a whippersnapper, who is more than 1.80m tall, and who should have stuck to his last - the martial arts school, which he had or has in japan. But in fact Seagal trys to do revenge and beating movies, like Hard to Kill, Under Siege or Executive Decision. hese are films from that eon, when Halle Berry still acted as a stewardess and heros still were unbeatable.

Onewho took off do make himself ridiculous - and who is not afraid about that. In one of his movies he has a pony tailm in the next he visits the church and after that - like anger management - he has to attend a police school. And one time he is simply called "The Chosen One"

Seagal has doubts to play the chosen one, he has - up to now - a sense of companionship, what makes his movies so special. He never - like Schwarzenegger - played the egocentric outstanding hero. His new film Half Past Dead - directed by Don Michael Paul, which is in the cinemas at the time, begins with friendship and loyalty, a little homage to the "film noir" genre

... to be continued .... sorry i have to go ( i will translate the rest later. )
