Political correctness in Britain is something else again. But would you believe that cooing at new-born babies breaches the babies' human rights? You can't make this stuff up but here it is straight from the BBC (Excerpt):

I think it was a case of infection-precaution measures gone mad. I note, however, that the site this was reported on seems to be a site that likes to make fun of Brits.

In the article, even the Brits were outraged at this nonsense.

Obviously, the neo-natal manager who made that ridiculous statement is clearly a bureaucrat and not someone who actually knows anything about babies... since babies can't understand language, but they do understand tone. Hence, "cooing" is something babies respond to.

Silly woman. But I take the site that reported it to task as well, for taking the story out of context and thereby being misleading.
