Frankenfish

I recently watched a pretty good creature feature called Frankenfish.
Very silly name, it was similar to Anacondas, but in my opinon much better, and it had these crazy mutated fish that could walk (or slither on land) to my surprise, they are an actual species of fish called Snakeheads. Check out this article link below, pretty darn interesting, and something I never ever heard of before:

Storm

Smile dammit!
Very interesting article. Shows how disastrous it is to introduce species to new climates. Now they are native and so adaptable they could cause havoc..
Glad we don't have them.

Thanks Clement. I have read about these fish before and we do need to get rid of them as soon as possible. Since they can go from one river to another it's hard to keep up with them.

Thanks Clement...trying to think of some other movies along the same idea??

I searched for other movies along the similar story line and "Snakehead Terror" (Hehehe) is the only other one I could find. I guess where these fish are a fairly new threat in the United States that there are very few movies made about them. "Frankenfish" is defenetly a B movie, with no name actors, its very gory, and has some unexpected scares, I thought it was excellent, but Im cheesey, check it out anyhow.

Crazy isn't it? Have you ever seen one? Up until now I've never heard of a fish that could survive outside of water for 4 days and crawl along the ground with its fins, very strange.
Do they have any of them in your area Kathy??

Heather we have Carp here to, but we don't catch them and kill them. My husband and I fish for Carp a lot because they are fun to catch. Sometimes they fight like a Northern pike, but a lot easier to catch. One summer we had caught about 100 pounds in total. We have pictures of me trying to lift these fish from the stringer. People were stopping by just so watch all the fun we were having. After we were done we let them go. Some people do catch them to smoke them, in a smoker and then eat them. Some of the big ones can be up to 15 to 20 years old and we don't want to kill them, just that 15 to 20 minutes trying to get them to the shore is fun enough for us.

Clement we do have them here but I have never seen one. Most of the time that we go fishing we fish in opened water, or on the shore line of rivers. I don't think they would be on land anywhere we would be. I would love to see one, but then I would have to kill it. We only kill what we eat and it would be hard for me to just kill something even though this fish needs to be clear out of our waters.
