Because it the past 8 years, there was no company that would have been interested in releasing a Seagal movie theatrically. Now the Anchor Bay Entertainment bought the rights and that is the reason why I am positive about the movie. Remember, Anchor Bay Entertainment is definitely in a different league than Sony Home Entertainment or Optimum Releasing or other straight-to-dvd distributors.

Anchor also released Steve Austin's movie "Hunt to Kill" (from Keoni Waxman) directly to DVD (as far as I know), so I wouldn't be too positive.

Even Mel Gibson's latest film, Get the Gringo (aka How I Spent My Summer Vacation) did not get a US theatrical release, and I would say that it is considerably better in terms of budget and cast than any lead vehicle that Seagal has done over the last decade... Get the Gringo was like Payback 2, and, although it was released in international territories, including the UK, it went to Video-On-Demand first in the US, and will shortly be followed by a DVD/Blu-ray release.

I'm afraid to say that if Gibson can't even get a project into the theatres (and I know he's got issues) then I can't imagine Anchor being interested in pushing for even a limited theatrical release for Seagal. Even an international theatrical release seems unlikely. Nope, my money's on this going Straight-to-DVD by the end of the year, as with most of Van Damme's latest (Six Bullets is out in August, Dragon Eyes was out last month and even Eagle Path / Soldiers doesn't look like it's going theatrical), most of Lundgren's output, and almost all of Steve Austin's films (his last film, Recoil, definitely did not warrant a theatrical release...).

Sorry but Mr. S's only chance of any kind of comeback is securing a decent cameo (a la Machete) in something like Expendables 3 (unlikely, but who knows?) and doing something halfway decent off the back of that. He's missed the boat with regards to Machete because he didn't really follow it up with anything high profile enough. In fact, self-financing a low budget but professional - and personal - project like Under Siege 3 would be his best shot, like Van Damme did for Universal Soldier: Regeneration. That would not only please his fans, but may actually get him back in the limelight in a positive way. As much as I enjoy the quantity of output we get through True Justice, it would be nice to see him do something truly memorable and quality, which both we and he himself can look back on and go, "well at least I had one good movie in the twilight of my career".

Thank you finally someone I can agree with. It's just getting stupid now the trailer will be released when it is ready. It has nothing to do with them not giving a crap about us because if that was true then they wouldnt have gone to the trouble of replying to the eamisl that you have sent them... Everyone just needs to calm down and stop being so pathetic... It will come when it is ready and not a moment sooner so all you lot who are moaning and groaning need to stop and realise that the whole fucking world doesn't revolve around you...!!!!
WOW! What a statement! I agree. Life is too short to allow a trailer to evolve around us. Let's be patient, kick back with a glass of good summer beer and enjoy the beautiful weather. Nothing we can control of so....relax....

No updates for months, no word on anything regarding the movie, and we have been stiffed for the trailer twice. Bad siqn. I do not like this one bit.

I think thats normal for a Seagal movie. Things always takes time. We can only hope that some of that time was spent with Seagal doing his own voiceovers ;)

What the ... ? And where is the trailer?

First of all, Imdb is pretty unreliable, and Voltage website still says Post-production.

Second of all, I dont think they will release the trailer until The Expendables 2 and The Bourne Legacy hype has died down. Those two movies compltely over-shadows MaxCon on every level + they are cinematic release and much bigger releases on every state. So if MaxCon should have any chance of a decent promotion, they should wait until mid-August. On the other hand, if they dont give a shit about the movie, then they could release the trailer whenever it suits them.

Maximum Conviction lands key deals for Voltage

http://www.screendaily.com/festival...n-lands-key-deals-for-voltage/5042335.article

I was searching some information about the distributors and found out that they are specialized on theatrical distribution so that we may expect some theatrical distribution also in Europe. Check this out : http://www.imdb.com/company/co0025026/

http://www.imdb.com/company/co0043933/

http://www.imdb.com/company/co0029173/ etc.

This might be the reason why its all taking so long. If they are fighting for it to be released *limited theatrical*, or maby even a *worldwide theatrical release.*
