Webmaster FU&D! said:In one of his most violent movies to date, Seagal plays Gino Felino, a NYPD cop who's out to get a drug-crazed childhood friend. Things looks promising when in the opening vignette, Seagal puts a pimp through the windshield of a car and the movie just builds from there.
In Out For Justice, Seagal returns to the extreme violence and vigilianty behaviour of Marked For Death. He repeats his trade-mark bullying of an entire bar, by picking a fight with every patron (as well as the bartender) and then beating them up. You almost feel sorry for the owner when the mafia and then his brother's crazy crew come in for a repeat performance. Almost.
He pushes an unarmed man off a balcony out of spite, pulls a guy through a wall, and beats another senseless with a frying pan. Gino is completely out of control, and I love it!
People may criticize his Brooklyn accent, but it's almost campishly cute. Add to this an excellent bad guy whom you really hate (played by William Forsythe), the classis Beasty Boys track No Sleep 'til Brooklyn and you have one excellent movie. Four guns, hands down.
I have an unrated, uncut version of this movie on laserdisc, and it's even more violent. Gino sticks cleavers through guys' hands, he blows a guy's leg off with a shotgun, knocks a guys teeth out all over the floor - excellent stuff! The US DVD is slightly cut but still miles better than the European DVD.
