Seagal's CD made fun of on David Letterman

I'm watching Late Night with David letterman right now and he had a comedy bit in which they showed CDS and made fun of them (pretty much).
To my surprise Dave pulls out a copy of Songs from the Crystal Cave, and says it's a Steven Seagal Music Cd thats only been released in France. Immediatly people laughed, after hearing the song, David Letterman said "my ears are Under Seige". Then after playing a couple more songs, he said "how about a little more Steven Seagal" and they played another snipit. But the audiance did actually clap after hearing the song, instead of laughing which they did for almost everything else plalyed. It was a funny bit, very cool to see Seagal mentioned, even if it was done in a mocking way.

See I usually watch Letterman, but got caught up in that chat room!
I miss everything! Did he actually make fun of him?

If he made fun of him, I am going to start watching Jay Leno! Leno is bigger anyway, Letterman is a skinny man!

He didn't actually make fun of Seagal. He just said twice after listening to two different clips of Seagal's music that "my ears are Under Seige" it was pretty much all in good fun. He never insulted Seagal, which is good, because if he did, he'd have all of us after him, HEHE.

A reason I dont watch those talk show programs..they always have to be making fun of someone-they have no other material :)

Dave also makes fun of himself and his kid straight after SS little promo.Hes a fun guy who actually likes Seagal. It would have done more good than harm.Does this mean now a U.S.A. release.

Maybe so, I hope so!! I want to see how it will be received! I have played it for a few people who are not SS fans, without them knowing who was singing and they were shocked! He has a nice voice!

I like Letterman! I love his top 10 list!

Well they say those no such thing as bad publicity, although he slightly mocked Seagal I know now more people will know about the album and you'd be surprised how many viewers will search for it.

I hope the album is released in North America. I'm not one to buy CD's in general, but if I could purchase a copy of Songs from the Crystal Cave in a local record store I would certainly do so. I think that the mocking of Seagal's CD on David Letterman was certainly all in good fun, and I agree that there is no such thing as bad publicty, and I was very happy to even see Seagal mentioned. I think that Twocents is correct, and that people who never heard of Steven Seagal's CD before, will now search for it, and possible purchase it.

I played the CD for a friend of mine, and she said he was as good or even better than any of the so-called "professionals" out there today. She liked the mix of styles, too.

David Letterman should get an life ..How dare he make fun of Stevens CD..just jealous ..just like others who dog him its just pure jealousy..I wouldnt give David Letterman the time of day he is sooooooooooo boring its more fun watching paint dry..

Late night shows dog everyone, but they get over it. Just like how Jay Leno mentioned Jean Claude Van Damme, I think that one was more funny.

This is very cool, Clement! :D His intention may have been to poke fun, but what great publicity. I'm sure the majority of people watching had no idea Steven has a CD out--but they do now! :D

Thanks for posting that, Clement. :) Interesting to see his name coming up more and more.

No problemo! :D
I think you are correct. I was just reading IMDB message board and there where a couple of people who had no idea Seagal had a CD. Some of them even showed interest in purchasing his CD. So all David Letterman did was help Seagal out, even if he sells another 1000 CDS it's still money in his pocket.

Also, I find it very interesting how his name keeps coming up to. I love it, I love hearing Seagal's name on TV, I think he should have his own channel.

I did the same thing with a couple of my friends and they loved it.
I didn't tell them though at first. I have had friends ask me to burn them off a mix CD and I've slipped in a couple of Seagal's songs. They liked it though, so that's all that matters.

Care to explain. What did Jay Leno say about Jean Claude Van Damme, I must have missed that one?????
