I think we can definitely say that Seagal is in.

I would say that its not Statham official Twitter account. Look at it, it only has 1 tweet. Doesn't that seems strange to you ?? Also calling the account realjstatham seems like someone is to eager to convince people its the real thing. I'm not convinced about the Twitter account.
According to The Stallone forum this account is connected to his official facebook account. A lot of websites are also picking up the news.

There's no Twitter account connected to Statham's Facebook page, I checked it out. So don't get to excited yet.

Otherwise Sly would tweeted that he wasn't, and he didn't

Let's just wait and see, not trying to be negative but nothing directly to confirm or deny Seagal, as we know just a few months ago Sly said no, and Seagal's plans are never sure until he starts filming. Again, not being negative, let's just wait for a final confirmation from Stallone or Seagal directly.

Ben, Sly wont confirm the cast directly, this is as close as we will get to an official confirmation. Like Mason wrote, *Sly would tweeted if Seagal wasn't in if that was the case, and he didn't, so Seagal is in, and that's how he confirms it. I would also say that writing *New Team A Blessing ... Expendables looking Fresh and Strong* is another way of confirming Seagal is in in The Expendable 3. Sly knows how important it is to get Seagal for The Expendables 3, so he views it as an blessing

I see your viewpoint, and I'm not trying to be negative, but Sly hasn't directly confirmed or denied anyone, aside from identifying who he has spoken to, who has been interested, who could be a possibility etc. So of course Seagal could be on board, but there's also the question of Wesley Snipes, Jackie Chan, Mel Gibson, or even Harrison Ford for that matter, since these names have been heavily circulating, and a "strong" cast could include some, all, or none of the aforementioned.
Anyway, I don't want to be a target for attacks, I would be very pleased to at least see two of the aforementioned names together, including obviously Seagal - I just mean that there could be deals or conditions yet to be finalised.

Why doesnt Sly say who is in it instead of all those teasing inbcrypted messages, its getting kinda annying.

Well he's started making a few direct confirmations, one being Mel Gibson, which is very interesting.
Again, my earlier suggestion was not made with any negative intent, but I just feel that, based on past experience, anything is possible up until they are scheduled to commence filming, particularly for Seagal because, aside from his contribution to "Machete", he often works on his own terms with less prolific production companies like Voltage Pictures. Hope you can understand my perspective..
Anyway, filming will start in August.. soon enough..

I know what you mean but considering his background/stature, I think it is commendable that he interacts with his fans directly in such a casual manner, rather than just PR/marketing people issuing statements and the like.

Seagal knows he is not dealing with Voltage and some cheap ass DTV movie now, so if Sly says he is in, he is in, until then there's nothing to do but wait and see.
The thing with Sly is, everything changes on a weekly basis. Rumours fly in and out. There have been a ridiculous amount of names attached. My guess is that 2-3 won't end up happening. So best thing to do is to wait till filming commences in the fall. I think filming starts september-october and will be for 3 months.
I think Seagal will appear. I'd guess something like Chuck's cameo. The guys we might not see are Jackie Chan and maybe Nic Cage who always seems to be working.
When he steps in front of the camera, then you'll know for sure. It's been that way in all the films so far. You have to take everything Sly says with a pinch of salt up until it actually happens.
