Take-Sensei.......
I don't believe there is any chance
of Steven gaining any ground on that web
site. It seems that no matter how many votes
are posted for Steven the percentage rate
stays the same.
God bless,
Mama san

Yes at the moment Chuck Norris is leading by 52 per cent of the votes.
Bruce Lee coming in second place at 43 per cent
and where both Steven Seagal and Jet Li each have 2 per cent of those same votes, so breaking even at the moment.
But as yet no votes for Jean-Claude Van Damme.

I was surprised to find that Chuck Norris is in the lead.

Also I wonder why they only picked those said above five martial art actors.

Hi Orangatuang

Yes, that above list of martial art actors should have also included the following martial art actors, which I have listed below in alphabetical order in terms of their surnames, as opposed to my preference:-

Billy Blanks

Jackie Chan

Sammo Hung

Cynthia Rothrock

Michelle Yeoh

We have many female Martial Artists that are as good
or, some, even better than their male counterparts.
I would venture to guess that just about all of it boils
down to the training, devotion, competitiveness and,
yes, "peace". There is so much more to the "Martial Arts",
in all of it's various forms, than just the hand to hand combat.
Discipline, patience, alertness and much, much more!
All deserve far more credit than is usually being given. It appears
that only the hand to hand combat is considered the most
important.
Without the combination of all facets, there can be no great
Martial Astist, male or female!
God bless,

Yes, you would have thought that in our so called modern day society that women would be treated just as equally as men in terms of their Martial Art skills, so in otherwords it should not make any difference whether you are a male or female Martial Artist. I would also think that there is a strong possibility that women Martial Artists will also have to train much harder than their male counterparts just so that they in turn can gain that respect in the field of Martial Arts that is rightly theirs. This is where those same said women will probably have to prove in many instances that they are far better than those Martial Art men in order to be treated in turn by their male counterparts as their equals.

It is also a shame that Martial Arts is not part of the everyday school curriculum, because as Mama san correctly says such true Martial Arts training requires:- alterness, competitiveness, devotion, discipline and "peace" etc..... I genuinely believe that if all school students were taught a combination of all those necessary said facets this in turn would probably reduce, if not eliminate, a lot of the bullying that appears to be on the increase these days in many of our schools; not to mention in turn that it would also provide a perfect foundation for when these same students reach adulthood.

It is also very said to think, again as Mama san has already said, that hand to
hand combat is considered the most important, when clearly that should not
be the case, where the emphasis appears to be too much on the excitement
element of it all instead of appreciating its true artistic skill. This is why many people in turn appear to get the wrong impression regarding Martial Arts, where in a noteable amount of instances their imaginations tend to run riot.
