What can we expect from Out Of Reach?

The new van damme movie will be in theatres, BUT NOT IN THE U.S.! I am stille excited for this though, considering "in hell" was pretty good, and this one looks a lot more action packed.

I saw Out of Reach director Po-Chich Leong's(?) first film, The Wisom of Crocodiles. I can't say the movie was that good, but from memory it looked very handsome for a low budget movie. Jude Law was in it...I think it may be called Immortal in America, or something like that.

Leong is an odd choice for director on Reach, but then again Warner Bros. were considering Killing Fields/City of Joy director Roland Joffe for Glimmer Man back in '96.

I think Out of Reach was originally supposed to be released in May, but has now been pushed back to September, at least in the US (I don't know what that means for Canadian release, which is usually about a month after the US release).

If it has been pushed back to september, does that mean it will definitely get a theatrical release? I question this because there seems to be no point in pushing it back if it is going STV, unless the film isn't finished of course!

Van Damme

His latest films haven't been too bad. Replicant and In Hell were both great films, The Order had good fights but had a little too much comedy and Derailed is really best left on the tracks. It like Oblowitz films suffered from a really bad director and editors. I also understand the same special effects directors worked on it as they did Out For a Kill which explains why they suck. I hope Van Damme still does his karate-kicking stuff as there was not in In Hell - I've heard a horrifying rumour that he's not going to be doing his helicopter kicks anymore.

VanDamme & Derailed vs. US2

Steve, that's probably a rumour.

I haven't seen The Replicant, but heard that The Order story reminded some people of Out For A Kill.

Derailed only reminded me of Under Siege 2 while it was described on paper (or on the screen) - what the movie was about and so on ... But it was different in many aspects from US2: the big difference is that Derailed, as Steve said should've been left on the tracks where US2 would be a high-speed maglev train hovering over it with extreme velocity.

To me, it doesn't matter how bad some of VanDamme's movies are 'cause I always like to see his new work on the screen - "In Hell" was a change from his movie style appearence; and VanDamme like Steven Seagal has said that he will try and shoot new movies that would divert from the "Knock Off" and "Double Team" revolution, back to his originals that would come out with a bang to impress the viewers.
