I am very upset that the threads have been deleted.
Yes we are Seagals fans but we deserve to be able to discuss both the positive and negative aspects surrounding him. I am sure Seagal would want his fans to support him, rather than just maintaining silence on the issue. There may also be those of us who think that the allegations may well be true and who should be able to say that. The allegations in question relate to a serious sexual assault among other charges and to my mind in not allowing anything to be said about it on this site, we are just dismissing the seriousness of the allegations as not worthy of a thread on this site. Seagal deserves to be innocent until proven guilty but the victim, because that is what this lady is, until anything else is proved, also deserves a fair hearing. In our over zealous following of Seagal have some of us become so blind to the fact that he may not be the perfect hero some of claim he is?
In deleting the theads pertaining to this topic, the moderators on this site have in my opinion made a grave error of judgement. Rather than acting for the good of the site, (which could have been claimed in the deletion of posts containing swearing etc) they have acted based on their own bias. Rather than allowing the loyal members of this site to actively debate on one of the most serious issues facing Seagal in recent times, they have acted to cut any mention of this from the site, just because it depicts Seagal in a negative way. The stupidity of this decision is obvious because the facts of the case as they stand are all over the internet. This site is one of the most, if not the most well known Seagal site on the internet, where fans of Seagal come to discuss the good, the bad and the ugly issues that relate to him. And now, if they come here, having heard of these allegation, on TV, online and in print, they find no mention of them. And worse than that if a topic is created they find it first closed, and then deleted without even a message explaining the decision. So what now, is free speech not allowed on this site? What next? If someone posts a negative review of a Seagal film, will it be deleted? Well will it end? If people feel that this is the case they will stop coming here, and those of us that are here will rapidly begin to loose interest.
I'm afraid that this site is taking on all the hallmarks of some sort of police state or dictatorship. Fair enough this is Craig Robertson's site and he should make the rules but what is the point in having the forum if free speech is going to be smothered? Craig himself has so far stayed silent on the issue and I wonder if the decision to remove these threads has been taken with him or by a Admins acting alone. I wonder how balanced the Admins are in their views, especially after the sad death of Mama San, who has not been replaced as a moderator.
No one on this site is asking to act as judge, jury or prosecutor, rather to be allowed to discuss the issues in question.
If anyone would like to see a copy of the post I made yesterday, containing the links to information on the case, including the court documents then please message me and I will email them to you.
Best be quick though, this thread must be due for deletion very soon!
