Fighting in Belly Of the Beast

This was and still is a great film (I love all his films though, apart from maybe the Patriot), but when he does all those flying kicks, can Steve actually do that. Because to me it just doesn't seem right. I prefer the feet on the ground aproach to kicking, flying/spinning kicks just doesn't suit his style.

No, most of the fighting in Belly of the Beast was done by stunt doubles. Very cleverly camoflauged stunt doubles, but stunt doubles all the same. The one in the market scene in particular is at least 20 pounds lighter than Steven.

Besides, Steven is far too heavy in this movie to be doing the wire work himself.

it's gotta be authentic or it's as good as CGI ... well, almost

I don't care for jumping, flying or whatever, if Steven Seagal can make it authentic, then I will love it unlike Belly of the Beast (b.t.w. I would rate Patriot above Foreigner and OFAK).

He's still totally awesome...
Besides for some of the dangerous things he's used doubles hasn't he, even in the older films when he was very thin?
I don't think that matters as long as it comes out looking realistic...
We don't want him to be hurt, just look at the damage he suffered in Exit Wounds car jump...
If he gets hurt bad he won't be able to make films anymore, but even if he quit I wouldn't care, I love him just like he is and for the man that he is, oh boy do I ever....:D

However says that Steven is getting to old, to fat, and to slow.I think you better get glasses, i saw BOTB and i just loved his moves as always. That big body of his takes a
belting the way he throws that bod around..But thats why he is tuff huh?....And once again his eyes have it.Heather.

I think he should stick to Akido Karate Judo and Kendo..It looked great with those Tai Chi moves in BOTB but the Akido things suits him better  ;)

It does seem daft to have one of the worlds great martial artists as the star of a film and then double him in the fight scenes. There is far too much wire work these days, I think it sometimes ruins the fight scenes. Steven's fights always used to be very naturalistic, it's a shame he hasn't stuck to that style, because that is what made him so popular in the first place.

As I used to say about him: I love the way he hits people!

They must have good reasons for doing it, I guess...
I am sure...
And it really was not that obvious to me at all...
I really enjoyed all the fights in this one, I was very pleased
with how this movie came out...
The style was new, but I happened to really like it...
Especially the first scene, where he uses all his charm and grace...
There isn't a double who could ever replace him for those scenes
You know which scenes I mean, huh, suzi...:)

Hey it ain't over yet its far from it! ;) I think he will go back to the realistic fightscenes some time, but like any other MA actor,I think he is excited to see how it plays out on the screen. We all knew this day would come!
