Well, according to what I've heard, the first thing you learn is how to fall. If I ever got the opportunity to learn aikido I know that would be the hardest thing to learn because I'm terrified of falling (I live in constant pain and anything that would get me more pain I generally avoid - like falling!).

Yes that is the first thing you learn, falling. I was 37 and learn to fall. And it is very easy. When you have a good teacher he will learn it very slow to you.
And the dojo rules is very importent to know.

hope you like your first lesson.

Love Connie :D

Why doesn't Steven ever do any falling for us?
Has he done it in any of his movies, specifically?
I fell for him, if you know what I mean, and I fell hard, hehehe...;)

That is why you have to learn the Ukemi of love dear Lotus...

Falling for Steven

Okay heres the scenario:
Grab your Marked for Death video forward it to where hes coming home and theyre doing roadwork near his home at like 830 at night hhes mouthing some things and he gets hit by a bulldozer behind and a truck in front it crushes his car..he cant get out.

Here comes the bad jamaican wanting to introduce him to his sister goddess of fire.,.throws molotov coctail in car it explodes.. he finally squeezes out windshield not thrilled, and seconds before it explodes you have a massive forward roll..of Steven onto the lawn..see it was there hes does it on a couple of them he has some scenes with a gun you new people..I do have a rank I am almost a black belt in TKD therefore please listen save your life..

Do NOT DO THAT..until your third year too deadly, we start out with fake knives (practice with rubber ones)to protect ourselves in the event of and only in immanent danger like death threat in military or government agency work. neither which you all would qualify for til near a blackj belt level (oh yes there are benefits to being a black belt you better believe it) just dont try anything without your masters approval.

The Ukemi is your partner to learn Aikido.
You must do your thing and your ukemi fall and roll for you.
Then you are the ukemi and your partner is doing the things.
I hope you understand it now.
But when you look good in the movie Half Past Dead then you see Steven rolling.

Love Connie.

Hello Connie, Sorry about the motorcycle accidant. Just try and remember Aikido is not a sport. Sports have trophy's, but your body will learn to heel your wounds with the right instructor. Welcome to Aikido.

Suzi, how very exciting for you! I'm glad things well for you yesterday. I guess you will be able to tell us very soon, like the name of the thread says, what is the first thing you learn in an aikido class. ;)

Good luck!
