Hey Musubiuk, you really can't see the difference between filming a seminare for private use and making copies and selling it? The law is very clear about the difference, and do you honestly think Steven would like someone to make money of his seminar without consulting him?
If someone had this tape and would show it to me I might have watched it, that is sharing, I wouldn't have bought it or sold it unless I knew it was ok with Steven, because that would break copywrite law, besides being un-ethical imho and I don't consider that sharing.

In any case I don't think you need to justify anything, you are free to do what you want and I'm not going to think less of you anyway. So welcome to the board.

How do you think Seagal would feel if his first movie when released at the cinema, nobody showed up!!!!. Just think about that for a second, now imagine if when the film hit the video shops, what if one person only bought the tape then decided to share it with everyone and nobody else bought the tape, you dont have to be a genius to work out what effect that would have on Seagals career do you!!! how do you think he would feel about that!!!! so what I am trying to say is you think its alright to borrow and watch his teachings free of charge but I have supported him since day one like we all have on this board, without us there is no Seagal and how do you know if the profits from the tape werent given to charity!!!

Thought I might throw my 2 cent's worth on this thread.
1.) When someone reaches the magnatude that Steven has, there will always be bootlegs. It is not wrong to buy, sell or watch.
2.) Don't be harsh on Lotussan for expressing her opinion, that's why we are here, to share our points of view.
3.) Steven Seagal would most certainly would exist without us. We didn't make him.
4.) I personnally think Steven would be bored to tears if he were reading this thread.( I, however am obviously not qualified to say anything concerning his opinion)
5.) Loving Steven is fine, after all, he is perhaps the most amazing man on Earth at this time, But blatant infatuation with him doesn't have much to do with Aikido. However...
6.) It's difficult not to get a "tingling" feeling reading the posts that you gals have posted on this thread. I didn't know Women folk could have such powerful feelings for one fellow.

Does anyone realize Steven has six children okay one or two are older but the majority are young, when you tape a tape for yourself and learn from his work fine, but when you tape a seminar for profit youre stepping on thin ice legally and personally.

How do you know about his finances about how much goes to his agency and how much is for production ?, I'm sure he has bills somewhere many stars do seminars and /or commercials to satisfy just that it isnt just his money its money for his kids, his expenses, his needs he has to eat too.

not compensating him for his work is not only illegal but somewhat immoral because ironicaly most of his seminars are about...self defense and respect and he tends not to respect those who break the 2 MA rules he is not often kind...little known fact

A full list of his films (including the cameo appearances, I think) are all avaliable in the movies section...

He also did TV cameos on SNL, and the Roseanne show...

BOTB is the most current film release...

I feel anything with him is worth collecting, however my visa card is on fire at the moment, as I am buying all the major movies on DVD...

As far as Steven teaching goes, the Path Beyond Thought is a must have!

This is the only instructional video out there that is endorsed by Steven as far as I know....

He is completely awesome in it! He is truly the master!

There's Path Beyond Thought, but it's only available in... (North American VHS format, can never remember what it's called - NTsomething, I think).

It's pretty much an amateur effort - no one had the foresight to do professional videos of his teaching, so all of the clips are from home videos, and the sound, therefore, is very bad (although what he says to one of his students who stopped to pull up his pants during an attack is fairly audible and very funny - to anyone except those in the room hearing it at the time).

If there's anything else, I'd like to know about it as well.
