People have the right to express their opinions about Steven's movies. It doesn't matter if they are singing his praises or if they offer real, constructive criticism. What does matter is that people are allowed to express their opinions without namecalling or threats or being sent to a ghetto for having opinions that differ.
A lot of Steven's fans - true fans, long time fans - have been unhappy with the recent crop of films. They have just as much right to express their unhappiness in the same threads as those who are happy with what they've seen. That doesn't make them anti-Steven, and labelling them as such is unfair, and serves no purpose except to exclude.
It is true there are a handful who have crossed the line from expressing constructive criticism and instead are expressing destructive and unnecessarily vicious comments. These are, in fact, very few in number.
I would suggest that when people offer their opinions in the movie review threads, that they confine themselves to civil discourse. "I disagree with you because (naming reasons)...." is acceptable. Threatening people, namecalling, ethnic slurs are not acceptable.
Everyone has a right to their opinion, and everyone has the right to express their opinion - within the parameters I described above.
I hope we hear no more about ghetto-izing people with legitimate comments to make about Steven's movies and labelling them "anti-Steven" simply because their comments are not all praise-and-glory.
