I might not come back!

Hello friends.

Sorry about the pretentious title, but I had to grab your attention.

Tomorrow I go into hospital for an operation on my eye. I am having it replaced with a Terminator one. However, if I should die during this minor surgical procedure, you will simply never hear from me again. Put simply, if I do not post on this message board again, you can be assured that my life has expired. How long do you wait for me to post before you come to the conclusion that I have flat-lined? For eternity. If I do depart this life, I promise I will not return in the guise of someone else, nor will I miraculously be resurrected and haunt this place, silently watching, like a spectre. Also, my 'sister' will not visit this site and post in a style curiously like my own.

If I don't post on here again then I am gone. I have breathed my last. I have gone to meet my maker. I have given up the ghost. I have vanished into the ether. I have kicked the bucket. Do not mourn for me - I am in a better place. Beyond is where I learn.

My soul will melt into glass.

Goodbye, my droogs. And remember - there is only one Glimmer Man.

You'll be ok, Glimmer; Remember it's just your "eye"!~G**You'll always have the 'glimmer' to remember< And although I am new to this site, I do love it, but still have yet to understand how to get around thoroughly. However, if spending all your waking moments to post everyday in an online forum is truly 'living', then I hope you meet some sexy nurses in the hospital/clinic care facility! Of, course I must admit, as I write this; I am suppose to be a. looking for a job b. editing my resume c. redoing my cover letter d. composing a reference sheet e. composing a cost/salary history report & f. contacting proposed employers. Best wishes, kirinkat, dallas, tx, usa

I'm so sorry to hear this, GMan. :( You're young and healthy--and a few other adjectives I remember from chat, but don't dare put here ;)--and I'm quite sure you'll come through this just fine.

Thanks for the warning about not coming back as anyone else, though. :D
But, as well all know, there's only one GlimmerMan.

I'll miss you, GMan. Even though we don't speak that often, it's nice knowing you're lurking about. ;)
And if those nurses (I believe you call them sisters) give you a hard time, they'll have to answer to me! :smad: :D

Saaayyy.........you won't be able to see through a nurse's uniform with that eye, will you? ;) :D

Good luck and hurry back, M. :)

Would Arnie give up this easily? ;) Don't worry about this. Believe in your success and remember that we believe in you :) You will be just fine. And if they have a Joker type incident from Batman me and you will come back and recreate the massacre scene from Terminator in the police precinct :)

Hey guys. I'm back, I'm sure you'll all be relieved to hear.

My eye is padded up with dressings and my left eye is weaker than my right eye, so susequently, I can't see very well. I could see if someone was coming at me with a baseball bat, like, but I can't read small text very well, so if you notice any uncharateristic spelling mistakes, then that is why.

Jesus Christ, the operation was painful I won't spare you the gory details. Hahaha! It was an operation to remove two cysts from my eyelids. I had to put a stupid hat on before some MILF led me into the theatre where I was told to lie down and look at the ceiling. Then they swabbed my eye with alcohol and squirted some sh*t in it which made me cry! Hahahaha! Then I had two injections - one in my upper eyelid and one in the lower eyelid. The nurse said that they would wait for a few minutes for my eye to go numb and then they would start. After a couple of minutes had passed my eye was kind of numb, but I was a little concerned, as it wasn't completely devoid of all feeling. But they began anyway. And it fu*king hurt! The cyst on the upper eyelid was OK - "it was ready to come out" they said. "No problem" I thought. Then the surgeon began to slice into the other cyst with a scalpel! Sh*t - I've never felt pain like it! Hahahahaha! I was trying to be brave, but couldn't help unleashing a grunt of pain! I felt as though the surgeon had jabbed me in the eye with a poker. "Is it supposed to hurt this much?" I asked through gritted teeth. The reply I got was "You're doing really well Michael and we've nearly finished". Nice one. AFTER SOME MORE SLICING, PRDDING AND SQUEEZING, my eye was free from the torment and padded up. I was told to sit up and told that some people feel faint after the procedure. I bounced off the bed like fu*king zebedee and said: "I got to get the fu*k out of this place!". The MILF took me outside and sat me down, got me a cup of the most disgusting tea I've ever had the misfortune to taste and then gently explained that I need to clean my eyelid every day for the rest of my life. I think she thought that I would take this terrible news badly, but I wasn't arsed - I just wanted to get home.

So - here I am. My eye is free from poison and I am seeing the world in a new way. The world burns.

One interesting side effect I have noticed is that one side of my head is completely numb. I even hit myself with a hammer to check. Didn't fee a thing. It feels kind of strange and alien. It feels as if the skin of one side of my forehead is covered with a plastic bag. Weird. When I take the dressing off tomorrow morning I will post some pics of the aftermath. Hahahaha!

Hope you all enjoyed my story of pain and suffering. I'm going to find somewhere to pass out. I'm in the chatroom if anyone wants to talk to me.

Goodbye my droogs!

Glad to hear the op went, um, that it went and the cysts are gone. The after effects of the anaesthetic are kind of like those shots you get when you go to the dentist, I guess; hope you didn't do too much damage with the hammer!

Spare us the pics, though. <shudder>

-TD, squeamish and not afraid to admit it

Sooo.....are things looking back to normal? :D

Sorry. heh heh Couldn't resist. :D

Thanks for letting us know you're doing *fine* and for sharing the exquisite details.
Too bad you didn't get some pics on your phone camera! ;)

Are you going to put that bandage on eBay along with the other one you had on there? :D

I am glad to see you back so quickly, GMan. :) And I'm sure the pain in your eye will be gone very soon.
I'm not so sure about the pain from the hammer, however. ;) :D

Hey guys!

I would like to thank you all for your support and friendship.

cookie - your kindness and offer to 'play' with me in the chatroom was much appreciated :D Childbirth?! Do you have babies out of your eye?! :p

S - you cheer me up as always. And looking at some of those sexy nurses in the hospital made me imagine you in your uniform. Oooh... :D

Nick - I am back!

TD - raunchy and irreverent? You described my best qualities! :D

Purple, Kimono, Suzi, Heather, Pantera and anyone else who thought of Glimmer in his darkest hour - thankyou!

I am high on Paracetamol mixed with a copious quantity of caffeine. The pain in my eye has faded to a dull ache. I unbandaged my wound this morning and now I am seeing the world through different eyes. Indeed. The nurse said that my eye would be badly bruised for the next week, but it is with some relief mixed with a strange, masochistic disappointment that the only evidence I can find of the severe trauma which was inflicted on me yesterday is a couple of missing eyebrow hairs and a rather sticky jizz-like residue on my face from the elastoplast used to hold my pad in place. I have washed my face five times now and can't remove it. Wearing the pad on my eye was a nightmare yesterday and I was out of bed at 6am this mornng to take it off. My whole sense of balance and perspective was fu*ked up like. I banged my head on the steel chimney hood in my kitchen last night, although I'm not sure whether it was the consumption of four bottles of Hoegaarden or the vision thing which was caused my loss of concentration. Either way, I got two days off work (how nice of them) and am going to spend today watching violent action movies.

I was tempted to post a few photos of the gore encrusted eye pad but good taste prevailed and I leave you with a Glimmer Man design for life.

Goodbye my droogies!
