I emailed Joe and he responded, he is a fantastic guy very admirable.

Tarek-

Great pictures. Very impressive. Based on them I think you'll do very well in all of your future ventures. I've seen your posts on the 'unofficial' site. They are always positive and supportive of Steven's career. That's the true definition of a fan.

To answer your question; Steven will be back in the theaters within the next few years. One of the three Sony pictures has a guaranteed theatrical release. Which one exactly -- has not been determined yet.

Stay in touch, and let me know how the training goes when you get to Los Angeles. The Gracie school is one of the best in the world.

Cheers,
Joe

Let's wait and see what the finished films are like. We were told all this about Into the Sun (2005) and yet that still went straight to DVD.

I nearly got tears in my eyes... for real.
When it happens, I will be first in line at the theather. That is if one of those movies make it to Sweden. What a minute... If the people in charge of my countrys Cinema-releases have any doubts about Stevens "comeback"-movie I will personaly convince them.

I do not wish to sound bitter or like I`m holding a grudge, but I feel as though the world shunned and turned their back on Steven Seagal when he wasn`t considered "cool" anymore. They do not deserve the oppertunity to do so again. If it were to be well recieved and make a lot of money, then I am aware of the great things that could lead to, but if not, then that could lead to the end of his making movies, and that would be terrible for all of us. Please let me know if you think my concerns are valid, or if I`m just being a selfish, silly old fool.

Many thanks,
Dragonking.

I don't think you are an old fool DRAGONKING. Your points are very valid. We would all love to see Seagal back in theatres again, but I too share your worries that it could not be such a great thing. If Seagal picks the right project, works with the right people and gets into the kind of shape that an action hero should be in then yes, a cinematic release would be great. After a period out of theatres that is now longer than at any other time in his career, a decent comeback like Exit Wounds (2001) would be great. However if it is not done properly and he does not get in shape he will be made a laughing stock of, becoming a Razzie nominee again and the butt of so many cruel jokes. As you point out something like this could destroy not only what he has worked so hard for in the past, but also any chance of him making any more films. Of course going back into cinemas would be the best route for his career but there are other possibilities opening up, like working with Warner Bros. again on there DTV sequel range. I just think that we should give this announcemnt cautious optimism.

Into The Sun hit the theaters in Japan but you are right now worldwide like we were expecting it to.

I think it will be Prince of Pistols, for sure...

I agree with you. The theaterial release has to be Prince of Pistols. I don't think Harvester or Enemy of the Unseen will be guaranteed for a theaterial release because I know it will have dtv quality in it and the plot isn't that much either. Just had a gut feeling. So it's Prince of Pistols for sure for many reasons. Somewhat I've heard something so little about the plot but I'm sure there's some plot concepts that hasn't been done in any of Seagal's previous films which will contain a verison of Seagal at young age performing by a young actor. The interesting thing is that Seagal hasn't done anything much with the storytelling to tell something about the past since Above the Law so it'll pull out the goods. Plus it is also rumored that Seagal is considering to direct the film. As seeing that the film won't be released until sometime early summer of 2007 or hold until late summer maybe middle of august of 2007 to prevent being wrecked by summer blockbusters? Or release in late March? I'd say August to October 2007 because I'm sure Seagal want to spend more time to make sure everything is done very well with good production quality in it. So, it usually takes a year from pre-production to finished film for a release date. So seeing that it'll be released in 2007, that'll be 13 years since Seagal directed a film. I'm sure he'll do much better in this one because he's the storywriter and screenwriter this time around. I enjoyed his first directorial debut in On Deadly Ground and hoping that he'll pull out non-stop action like what he did for rest of 2nd half of On Deadly Ground but more action and better staged. Hand to hand combats is what he needs to do for this film to satisfy his fans including action film fans. It better be at least around 110 between 120 minutes long. I'm tired of seeing Seagal doing 85 to 105 minutes long for his films. At some point, I just feel that he should do longer than 105 minutes for once and who cares if the standard minutes of an action film is 90 to 100, just to be graceful to his beloved fans, that's all. Not like how Michael Bay did to his films which is too overlong action films which lasted from 120 minutes to 150 minutes, that's nuts. Adding only 5 to 15 minutes longer don't hurt anything, just to promise to give in good deal amount of action sequences that he owes to us.
