Michigan Autumn

[KATHYPURDOM]

1) Eagle River neighborhood in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This picture was taken yesterday.

2) Same general neighborhood near Eagle River, taken today.

As our unofficial slogan says, "Welcome to Michigan. Don't like the weather? Wait an hour. It will change drastically."

That is a drastic change from one day to the other. Those a beautiful pictures Serena. Your state seems like it is beautiful all year round.

Between Friday and Saturday here it dropped 45 degrees!

The Mackinac Bridge looks just like The Humber Bridge which spans the Humber Estuary on the Yorkshire coast. Great pics.

Not for most of Michigan, but in the Upper Peninsula I think most of the leaves are down now. And after the cool, rainy weather we've been having in the rest of Michigan, very soon those gorgeous colors will be another pleasant memory. Great while they lasted, though, eh?

Oh, it is, Storm, just beautiful. As I've said before, it's where my paternal grandfather and his family were from. And the best way to see it, as in many of these pictures, is while camping and hiking. I've done lots of traveling and seen many beautiful things, but my heart belongs to my Michigan.

Please, Hallarian, please don't let the narrow-minded, ignorant actions of a very few force you into such a move! From what I've learned of you, you don't make idle threats as a few others have in the past, hoping people will beg you to stay, so I know you mean this! Hallarian, Casey will be so disappointed and truly miss you, as I know some of the other original members will, such as Kickingbird, Kat, Amos, etc. Though I don't go back as far as them, my respect and admiration for you is as great as theirs. I know you've faced so much bigotry through the years, actively fought against it, much worse than the pettiness that can go on around here. I hope once you've taken a break, maybe feel a bit better physically, you'll reconsider. Please do, Hallarian.
