My crazy idea on a movie...Its long so don't read it unless you have some time!!

"Lookin fit Nelson"
STEVEN SEAGAL.....JEAN CLAUDE VAN DAMME
I think it would be a great idea for these two guys to finally square off against each other in a movie, these two were the two reigning kings of the early 90s action and even though people will say Arnold and Stallone were always on top, IMO Seagal and Van Damme were THE BIG 2 for a few years, although both Seagal and Van Damme have made more than enough junk movies (FIRE DOWN BELOW, CYBORG) they've also been responsible for some awesome movies (MARKED FOR DEATH, HARD TO KILL, ABOVE THE LAW, UNDER SIEGE- BLOODSPORT, KICKBOXER, SUDDEN IMPACT, Hard Target, UNIVERSAL SOILDIERS).

For quite some time they've been down in the dumpsters with all the rest of the Action superheroes of yesterday. They are definitely down (Forget Exit Wounds its ancient history after the last few) but they aren't forgotten. I think if the two could put there personal issues aside and come to terms for something like this I think it could really be something great. The budget obviously would be a big objection, but I want to put that to the side for now. Someone who knows action would have to be behind the camera I’m talking Andrew Davis or someone who can pace an action movie at that perfect tone where things don't drag don't skip all over the place but have a nice smooth transition to action and whatnot. But Id also have to “weigh in” about SEAGAL... No ifs or ands about it he'd have to be it TIP TOP SHAPE, not "just good enough" I’m talking as close to M4D as possible, or EXIT WOUNDS being the very least, because VAN DAMME has always kept in pretty good shape and always looks pretty comfortable performing his action sequences.

The movie would have to be "grimy" and by that I mean very dirty, very no holds barred if you will. Rated R or what ever they are using now a days for some kick ass action and profanity. As we probably all know, Steven Seagal even though his part in Clementine was portrayed as "the bad guy" and as rumored that he may star as the main bad guy in a possible RUSH HOUR 3, I still think he would probably end up being the good guy. VAN DAMME on the other hand I've seen quite a few movies where he was a damn good bad guy, and I really think that at this point in his career as he has been missing big time even longer than Seagal, he wouldn't object to playing the part. Alright now here’s just a wild take on it from my point of view, read on if you’d like.

Seagal could be a troubleshooter for the DEA- In NY or somewhere very urban, Seagal, a resident of NYC (or wherever it may take place), Sicilian decent, and devoted husband and father. He should play the tough as nails tough guy but still have religious and family values (as excellently portrayed in ABOVE THE LAW).

OPEN the movie with Seagal driving insanely fast in a Ford Crown Victoria, he screeches to a stop in front of a worn down apartment building where a few blocks away an undercover drug bust just went horribly wrong and a gang of drug dealers have killed 3 under cover DEA agents and evaded police to the safety of this shoddy apartment building. At the time of his arrival there are cop cars around, sirens blazing and guns are being fired from the windows of the building sporadically, Seagal and the rest of the police are all hidden ducked behind cars and obstacles… After a superior briefs him on the scenario, Seagal in street clothes grabs a VEST from the back of his car and a flash bang grenade. He then takes a few clips for his .9mm but also grabs an additional pistol (DESERT EAGLE).

His superior warns him not to go in there because the "big boys" are on there way but Seagal insists as he knew the DEA agents involved and he also believes that in all possibility that they could have more men and weapons in that building and there are a few floors of innocent people in the middle of it all so he is harshly against waiting. So amongst the chaos he assembles a quick team- A few officers (including his cousin), which he used to work the streets with. As Seagal takes a glimpse of a few pictures of his kids and wife, he closes his eyes and takes a deep breathe. He puts his wallet back and they rush the building against orders. Seagal and his cousin John take the lead while the two other policemen stay close but go a different way.
I haven't come up with the exact battle ideas yet for this.

Now switch sides showing a VAN DAMME character that is rough looking but at the same time still pretty; Jet-black hair, some facial hair, and a lot of gold jewelry including one hell of a dangerous ring- you get the point.(I put an attached picture at the bottom) A notorious drug king among certain crime circles from some EUROPEAN country or possibly South Africa, with ties within the USA.(To explain that thick accent LOL) A slick but not over done bad guy that always seems to beat the rap due to connections and ways of getting by.

Open his scene with some Colombian (Cant Decide maybe Jamaicans?) gang members awaiting VAN DAMME'S arrival in a run down Motel. Meanwhile a classy early 90s Cadillac pulls up and parks under a shoddy looking parking garage roof. Van Damme in the passenger seat, his number one man on the left at the wheel and two "incase" guys in the back. VAN DAMME has a bad feeling about the night and speaks to the driver (his #1 guy/close amigo) Anthony who reassures him that business is business just another "take out order." Van Damme doesn’t want to take any chances and tells the guys in the back seat it’s a “Plan B kind of night”. They all get out of the car as Van Damme takes three suitcases from the back trunk he gives one to Anthony and another member holds the third. Van Damme and Anthony meet with the dealers and Van Damme’s 2 other henchmen are out of sight down the hall. While small talking with the Colombians- Van Damme and Anthony position themselves on the wall opposite that of the door after the small talk the Colombians ask to see the green and two Colombians check the halls once again, after the doors shut Van Damme’s two other men silently creep up to the door and listen with there hands tightly gripping there weapons.

Van Damme opens his suitcase and from behind a couch a Colombian pulls out an AK47 and demands "the gringos" to drop the suitcases and kick them to him, he tells them to shut up and get there hands up. They comply and kick the suitcases in his direction; he opens Van Damme’s and its full of cash. He opens the second and to his dismay there is nothing but paper. Enraged he walks over to Van Damme and slaps him, he puts the gun to his face and tells him If he knows what kinda gun this is, and if he knows what this gun could do to his pretty face, he laughs and cracks a joke in spanish to his comrades who let there guard down for a second and laugh. "Give me the rest of the money and maybe you won’t have to find out Gringo," he sarcastically tells Van Damme. Van Damme and Anthony keep there cool, "Don't you think it’s going to be hard for me to tell you while you got that thing in my face? Amigo?" Replies Van Damme.

The comment makes the Colombians relax a bit more, and the Head Colombian laughs and glances away, Van Damme seizes the moment and strikes the gun out of his way and slashes the Colombian’s throat with a gold ring which has an etched sharp spike like top, the Colombian leader shoots as soon as Van Damme strikes his gun and the AK rounds hit another one of his men as the Leader falls to the ground, the door bust in and Van Damme's two other men jump in blowing away 3 Colombians while Van Damme and Anthony dive to the ground and return fire to the remaining Colombian. While on the ground Van Damme tells Anthony, ”Good thing it was ‘just another’ TAKE OUT ORDER.” They take the goods, the money and haul ass before the cops come.

That’s just something I just thought of in my head, but I mean I think it could be a cool idea.

That's amazing, aikidoboynj! :) I can't believe you came up with this in one sleepless night. A little too much Thanksgiving dinner, eh? ;) :D You obviously put a lot of thought into this, and I'm glad I took the time to read it through. I agree with you that VanDamme makes a "damn good bad guy". :D And I can picture Steven in the role the way you described it. This really was good--I liked it. :)

Now, all you need is another sleepless night or two to finish it! :D

"Lookin fit Nelson"
vital

There is a reason I put Van Damme, since they were both the number 1 guys in the Martial Arts Action films of yesterday and the two will finally meet and duke it out on the big screen. (freddy vs jason, alien vs pred, SEAGAL VS VANDAMME)

That whole VS scenario could really be a big hit(no pun intended)if Seagal and Van Dame got to duke it out using your film premise(or one similar).Hey,if it's good enough for Freddie And Jason:D.The only problem I see is that they would both want to win,not to mention a clash of ego!I am quite surprised someone has not already thought of this idea already.Watch this space!!

I thought you would like that because me and you think similer when it comes to Seagal! And in action films the good guy always wins so by my story that would mean Seagal, but who knows maybe the villian who will die will actually survive and live for the SEQUEL LOL!! only kidding

Chuck Norris is a great MA...But as far as the movies go I think that what Chuck Norris brought to the big screen, SEAGAL and VANDAMME perfected during the early 90s/late 80s. I think SEAGAL and VANDAMME are on a higher level as far as movies go.
