Hello my fellow Seagal fans! I'm a new member who is thrilled with the sturcture and people of the website.

I have some interesting news to report about Steven's Up coming movie "Out for a Kill." According to the Action Kings website Out for a Kill is set for a August 19th Video release.

Does anyone have an idea when Belly of the Beast is going to be released? And has Steven lost any weight?

Peace be with you all.

Thanks for the info, DJ...But I just have to wonder why people always keep talking about his weight... As for BOTB, someone said it is going to be released around December, I think...That seems like forever...

people always keep talking about his weight...

People keep going on about his weight because, as his weight has risen, his films and fight scenes have got inreasingly worse.

So people hope his weight has dropped, and fights and action scenes back to what they were.

ok, but nobody here knows what his current weight is...And I could care less, he is wonderful no matter what to me, but of course I always want him to be successful.....:)

Well, judging from those photographs taken of him in New York in February, I'd say he was still a pretty big boy all, um, around, at least as of then.

Don't care, though. I like the expanded version of Steven Seagal, myself.

;) ;) ;) ;)

But all you female fans have got to remember that you all have an added interest in Seagal in that you all fancy him like mad!Perhaps you don't care as much about the action/fight scenes(these are what makes his films when all said and done)as us guys?I tend to agree(as do most of his male fans)that he really should lose weight.I wonder if that is one of the possible reasons why both Stanley Tong & Corey Yuen both declined to direct him in Yakuza?I don't know about anyone else, but these "pattycake" fights are starting to take there toll.

Guys:at least we get to look at the sexy Kata Dobo in OFAK:D

Corey Yuen is no longer directing "the Yakuza"?

yessssssssss! He is a big gorgeous man, and I want all of him, all of him! I like him the way he is, big and huggable and loveable!

And it will be his weight(and I hate to say this)that will eventually stop him from making films all together:(.The fact that I am such a big fan is so hard for me to say that.

Anyone agree?

I get the feeling there's gonna be a sex divide on this. The women want him the bigger the better, and us guys want him to loose weight.

Anyone agree?

I agree Justice.

But if you take a look back at all his classic fights, snapping an arm and throwing them through a window, or any of his old classic moves, can't be any more energetic that the PATTYCAKE FIGHTS, they look quite exhusting.

Like he said in ABOVE THE LAW, he saw an little old man doing majical things, well if a tiny man can still throw someone about, I'm sure a big lump like Steven can.

But he should still slim down a bit.

I just amazes me how he went from, slightly overweight, but still mobile in EXIT WOUNDS, to looking like an airship in Ticker onwards.

What did he do, swally a burger shop??

at the end of the day, I wouldn't care what weight he had put on if his films and fights were still the quality we have come to expect, all his films while he has been fat have (in my opinion) been terrible, so I blame his weight. If he was slimmer, he would get better offers with better directors at better studios.

All the girls can love whatever they want, the bigger he gets, the quicker his career will end, then the won't be seeing him at all.

Be your self...
i´ve got no problems with Stevens weight or his part in movies, he will always entertain me :)

Steven is Steven....he choose the way he want to live and what to make....we just watching him

I happen to like watching Steven's fight scenes, so on that score, yes I wish he would do more fight scenes. I think he *can* still do it regardless of his weight - if he'd stop being so self-conscious about it, and just say, what the hell, I'm heavier now, who cares. *Whap*. I think that is what is stopping him from doing the fight scenes himself, more than any loss of ability because of the weight.

And yes, I also (being one of "the ladies" mentioned so dismissively above) happen to think that Seagal size x-large is sexier than the earlier version. Sue me.

As for the "patty-cake" fight scenes - sorry, guys. That's about the most realistic fighting I've ever seen. I remember seeing a brawl outside a bar some years ago - real guys fighting, not movie stunt men. That's exactly how these guys were fighting.

But who wants realistic fights in movies any more?

I think that he should at least get back to "Fire Down Below" weight. I would'nt mind seeing him in a Dirty Harry type of film though and his weight would'nt matter that much.
Out for a kill is listed at www.bn.com now and can be preordered. It is being released on August 19th afterall.

Let Steven dicide...Whatever we think here doesn't affect his decision unless he feels like making a change in himself...It's completely up to him and it's not in our hands. And I won't ever let his career be over unless he decides to retire himself.

It may not be up to him if film studios decide they don't want him anymore, as he is not up to the game. Listen, I know that the ladies on the board get tired of this old chestnut of his weight being brought up but you have to remember what genre of film making he works in. It is the action genre which requires a lot of physicallity and requires you to be pretty fit in order to look good and above all CONVINCING in the numerous fight/action sequences which the film will be primarily made up of. Seagal is middle aged anyway, which is going to slow him down enough, without the excess poundage and only gives his critics something more to scoff at. It is no coincidence that the majority of this board think his new films are dissapointing and lack the edge of his older films, when he was still able to throw a few moves together in front of the camera. I am willing to bet that this is primarily because of the points I am bringing up in this very post - he is too overweight for action films.

I am also finding it a little patronising when some of the female members of this board jump on people and call them rude for pointing out this fair observation. If you do find little points like this being made and you do not like them, please do address them if need be, but please do not have the gall to brand the person rude when they state these observations in a non-malicious way. Truth be told, I sometimes find the posts where all the ladies gush over him and stress phrases like "he's soooooooooooo sexy" or "he's all man, with those brown eyes and kissable skin" or "he's so sensitive and needs protecting" a bit sickly and repetitive (and I'm sure I'm not the only one!) but have I ever verbally attacked you for making them. Up untill I was criticised, no. So please respond politley or not at all. This is probably best in the long run.

Peace.

I'm as big a fan as anyone here, so I hope that nobody gets mad at my next comment. But aside from the weight issue, why don't you think that he ever took some acting lessons? I'm mean, you'd think that after Above the Law, he realized that maybe this acting thing would take off. And since he didn't have an acting background, you'd think he would have sought out professional lessons.

And frankly (again, please don't hate me for this, but this is my opinion), I think that his acting is getting worse in every movie that he makes (it is less natural). I actually thought he was best in his first movie, and it slipped from there.
