Reviews: Mercenary For Justice

thanks

Thanks for the info!
Still i`m looking foreward of seeing the movie.
I love the cover by the way it looks very cool. It`s something better than the ones before this movie, there were basically al the same and mostly none of the pictures were actually in the movie itself.

Does anybody know when its released in the Netherlands????

There are already two reviews on imdb.

REVIEW 1: POSITIVE

"First of all there was very little voice dubbing (sounded like JR ewing) and minimal doubles which was a suprise, loads of action but mostly gun fire with a few Seagal close combat scenes (toilet scene was comical). First war scene could have been stretched on for longer (see silly Seagal double run for to the chopper) and the ending could have had more hand to hand combat scenes instead of a rushed one.

Get rid of the silly dubbing/thin double and he could make some sort of come back."

REVIEW 2: NEGATIVE

"Did we see the same movie, mate?

Because IT REALLY SUCKED ASS!

First of all the war part was terrible, okay there were some shots that were nice but it just looked like an mid '80's acrion movie with guys falling down, bad explosions, massive unrealistic guns use, terrible special effects etc
The French Foreign Legion don't use russian T type tanks at all ( it's a para regiment no place for battletanks)

Second the whole USA part was *beep* very cheap on all fronts from acting to scenery.

And third the prison part was agian, same as the war part, TERRIBLE. Guys just walking blazing guns truw a high security prison. A water pipe right to the prison with only one little steel plate keeping people from getting in. Guards with anti tank weapons? What is next, minefields around civillian prisons? When the merc's enterd that church they were testing AK's, M60's and grenades. When they raided the prison they all got MP5's. What about that?

I've seen a lot of bad Seagal movies the past year('s) but this one is beating them at every point. What a wasted of a good action star.
Seagal should take his money and go on a nice retirement some were in Europe (he seems to like it over here)."

i have just finished watching mfj and i can honestly say its one of his best dtv films he has made.

good points
1.seagal does all his own fighting and there are a couple of wrist/arm breaks although there is only 3 fights in the film
2.seagal does most of his own lines but there is some dubbing in a couple at the beginning
3.although not that many fights the film is action all the way
4.for a 15 million film it felt more like 30 million with no bad cgi

bad
1.the film is confusing in parts but no more than other seagal dtv films
2.some of the other actors are pretty poor apart from luke goss
3.seagal looks bored in this film compared to recent efforts like black dawn and today you die
4.seagal appears in only 50 percent of the film and in some ponits of the film he goes missing for about five minutes(but after complaints by nu image about seagal i did expect that)

It's a winner!

Just got round to see Mercenary For Justice:D

And what do you think? It's a winner!!!!!!!!!

As far as I can tell no voice dubbing (although I have doubts at two or three sentences), No stunt doubles (I counted one, but hardly noticable), No fight doubles (You see him do the moves and nobody else).

There is a decent story and Seagal plays somewhat of a bad guy with a good heart. There is some humor in there and some great action (especially the opening ten minutes).

Camerawork is good, actors are oke (two or three are overacting, but it fits the character they play)

Here are some shots from the movie

Peace

I still have the Into The Sun screensaver going - fabulous!!!!
That one is from Craig I think.

I made the unofficial trailer which was on the forum days before the official trailer was released.

But You're right that the screensaver is fabulous.

Thnak you soooooooooooooo much for photos really excellent !!!
wher is trailer ???? :)

You're welcome.

I trying to convert the video (divx-format) to MPG so that I can edit it into a trailer, so you'll have to be patient because I do not have the rights software for it at the moment.

Peace.

As far as I remember, this site doesn't promote piracy. I'm sure that you have the right to have that divx video, but I do have doubts that you have permission to modify it, or to upload any part of it to the internet.

So my humble advice is: don't do so.

Piracy is indeed not allowed, but as has been done on this site with numerous other movies there are samples to get members warmed up for the release.

I myself will definitely order this dvd the moment it goes in pre-order. I have all Seagal films on original dvd and have two in pre-order.

The only thing we try to do is to promote the movie and hopefully boost the sales a bit.

Check out the members only section, where you will find numberous clips and files or check out the poll about my previous trailer (into the sun in comparison to the official one).

Peace

Thanks for the pics, but as far as the film, from the review right there, I am really fed up with Seagal. I hate to say it but it's over for him as far as Martial Art movies. He had his shine like all greats but now it is just getting dissapointing and a waste of money. I never bought Black Dawn, just rented it, it wasn't worthy to buy and I am still not sure if I am going to buy it.
Hey don't give up... Im sure, sometimes there will be better days :)

I look forward to them too Hoffmae - if there is only one movie a year you can go cold on an actor - too long to wait.

I know what you mean Pandora the trail can go cold to fast and we dont want that happening ...They are alot of critics out there but who cares at least Steven keeps them coming...
