Tora, so you are from Estonia. I missed that one, sorry. If I'm not wrong you're closer than anyone in here. At least we're sharing one continent. Goodnight everyone.

Just my humble opinion

Hi, there

I am kind of disappointed in all his last movies to. I grew up with martial arts and martial arts movies. I remember when Hard to Kill came out, and how much I enjoyed Under Siege. But all his last movies like Out of Reach or Half Past Dead are just average. The script is average, the shot is average, the music is average etc etc ...

I think it is always better to do quality then quantity. And Seagal has IMHO a lot more potential then what he does at the moment.

I just look today at his official website, which is ugly, and bad designed. I would prefer have none that this.

It makes me sad to see how he goes down to being average. I seen his last movie Out Of Reach, which and I was very disappointed, again it was just average or below since I thought his voice were dubbed. Compare this movie to a movie like Collateral with Tom Cruise, IMHO a movie with style, good pictures, nice sound and story. I bet even I would produce a lot better movie with the 20 mil dollar budget then Out Of Reach, and I am just a nobody.

There are really good script writers, really good camera guys and sound designers out on the market waiting to get a change, to produce something special.

So please someone help him to show his potential, produce quality and stop producing quantity. So please help Seagal to step out of being average, which he is not, and produce movies which will be remembered.

Sincerely me ...

Quality movies....? hmmm.. how about Seagal VS Predator? lol

To be honest, after Seagal and Producer cum extorter J.R Nasso decided to part, Seagal’s movies have been taking a slide.

Anyway i do hope Seagal gets back with Warner Brothers... only they can produce some quality blockbuster films with a big budjet.

Is his career over? I don't think so. We all know the man can act, he has just been delt a few bad scripts lately. Give the man a desent movie and som good co-acters and I belive we will see him on the big screen again. As for insulting him or other members of this forum, that is a NO NO, if you don't have anything constructive or nice to say, keep your fingers of the keyboard.

I hope he will continue to make movies for many years yet, wether it is DTV or theatrical releases is not that big a deal, as long as he keep making movies. We are all fans of him for different reasons, we respect him and love him, and hope that he will be around for a long time. If anyone is here just to trash him, you can go away.

Most acters use stunt doubles for different reasons, I agree that as a martial artist it is somwhat strange to choose to do that, but we don't know the reason why he does, so it would be pure spculation on our part. As for voice doubles, this I do not understand, as your voice is so much a part of your persona. A movie with Steven Seagal but without his voice is not helping the movie. Just my oppinion.

Nico

So true Nico!

As for the voicedubbing I think Steven is working with so many things he doesn't have the time to forfill all his contracts. I mean he's all over the place and the movies he has done lately is lowbudget films. When the movie goes overtime, Steven has to pack and go to the next thing in life.

Bonebreaking movie!

Amen to that! :rolleyes:I would wish that he atleast would turn on the old bonebreaking machine again and put more fightscenes into his films.

"Belly of the beast" is a bit like the old days. Many good fights and a female in distress. In this case his daughter.

First of all I want to say hi to all members of this great website. I come from Germany and I´ve been a fan of Steven Seagal since 1988 when his first movie "Above the Law" came out. At the beginning of his career Seagal´s martial arts ability for the screen was unbelievable. The fight scenes in "Above the Law", Hard to Kill, Marked for Death, Out for Justice, Under Siege and On deadly Ground were amazing. But after his directorial debut(Ground) he changed in every single way. He gained a lot of weight, his clothes were unusual for an Hollywood actor and the fight scenes were not as great as in his first movies.
I personally find it very disturbing to see a heavy overweight Seagal with that kind of clothes. I never ever saw an overweight action star.
Do you remember how the great Charles Bronson did look in his movie "Hard Time" in which he palyed a boxer?
Unbelievable muscular when you think that Bronson was 54 years old in 1974.
All the great martial artists such as Chuck Norris and so on have a normal figure. I don´t understand why Seagal is eating all the time...
His last good movie was "Exit Wounds" in my opinion but only because mega producer Joel Silver forced Seagal to lose weight.
His last movies were so bad I don´t find any words...
B-Movies not getting into theater´s, C-Director´s . They even dubbing his voice.
I never ever heard about that..- they dubbing his voice..-why?????????
I can´t understand that.
If "Into the Sun" doesn´t get a theatrical release then his career is over because his new movie "Submerged" is again a direct DVD release.
I always thought that Seagal is a man of honor but why does he make so many B/ C-Movies?
Just for the money?
I would say: Steven retire from the movie business and make plans to continue your music thing....

Hey some people gain weight easyly and some dont. Seagal is propably one of them :D :D But I still think he is great, his performance in Out Of Reach was good and he was wearing black again like back in the good old days.  but the movie just seemend borring some how. If it had 2 or 3 more fightscenes then it would have been better becouse the fightscenes would have overshadowed allmost everything else in the movie... but it didnt!!! Something is missing in his new films

Give Seagal A Break.

Whats up with everyone and his weight issue. He is working very hard right now and everyone should be appreciate that Seagal is still working hard and making movies at age 54. Into The Sun is going to be released into theaters so Seagal is putting alot of effort into this one so everyone just relax a little and we will hope for the best.

Exactly littledragon...people should judge themselves before they judge others...even though he has put on weight how are we to talk iam sure as hell aint perfect and no one else here can say they are either so just let him do his job and let him be...and his age well thats another issue all by itself age is just an number i dont see what its got to do with the way he acts any way he could be 64 and still be an great actor which he will be so lay off about his age as well...i will always stick up for him not because iam female but because i give an DAM!!!!....now Heather waits for some victims to come into her palour...

This was the latest thread I could find on the dubbing the voice topic to ask my question...has anyone tried contacting any of the production companies to ask about WHO did the voice dubbing for Seagal & if they will tell you WHY?
